Digital Pet is the most accurate name, I think. I bought it from a book ordering form, as it was only $5 and that was with what could be called the worst joke book ever. The book ordering form was from the publisher Scholastic, so I called 'The Scholastic Pet' for a while, until I found identical(?) pets at the dollar store under the name 'Digital Pet'. I do not know if those ones have the same program though.

It is mostly a Tamagotchi ripoff, riding off what wave there was for maybe the Tamagotchi Connection Version 3?

It does not have any icons, instead sprites appear to represent each one on screen.
You might not be able to see it, but the buttons are labeled, from left to right, 'Reset', 'Select', 'Confirm' and 'Escape' and aside from 'Reset' work just like the Tamagotchi would. I actually like it's buttons better, they are hard, solid plastic that need pushing down.
It will start as a Shirobabitchi or Babitchi based on gender, like a Tamagotchi, then within 5 minutes it will turn into an adult. No notice. There are stolen Tamagotchi sprites, Digimon sprites, little Chibi-styled people, stick people, and random badly-sprited farm animals available for raising but for the most part it's random what adult you will get. It does accurately assign gender though, you won't get a male sprite from a Shirobabitchi.

It's games are probably more fun than Tamagotchi ones, actually! There is a quick little 'Hit the Nail' game, a fortune-telling game, Rock Paper Scissors, and a rip-off of Sprint which I never play ever.

(Oh, how fitting, 'Don't Break the Heart that Needs You' just started playing)

I really must borrow a better camera and do a full review of this guy...

For a few minutes now I have been the caretaker of the children of Bob, Elly and Susan.

The first I started taking care of was Kira, one of Bob and Elly's sons. Currently at 8 pounds, he worked off his baby fat (from the first 4 meals) the easiest, playing 2 games of Dance and a game of Jump to work down to 5 pounds. He has pooped once since being named and got sick while playing another game of Jump.

Then I started taking care of L (guess what I've been watching?), another of Bob and Elly's sons and Kira's brother. He has had the hardest time working off his baby fat, with one uncooperative game that takes a rather long time, Get Notes. I played this quite a few times, during one of which he got sick. Are my hands really that dirty?  Embarrassed

After finally getting L up and ready, I got to Mocha, Susan's daughter. Like Latte, she's a sweet little girl. She ate four meals and three snacks, and then we played a couple games of Jump to work all that off. She got sick while I was playing Get Notes (again) with L.

Now, at 10:03PM, Kira has gone to bed. I was unable to get his lights off right away because I was playing Get Notes again. I think it is now a rule that my entire life will fly by while I'm busy trying to secure a decent weight for my Teletchi.
Also going to bed now is Mametchi. I know Kira will be back up though; babies never sleep all night.

Edit: It is 10:33 and Kira just transformed into a Kinokomotchi and feel asleep while I was playing Jump with Mocha. She and L should follow soon.

Edit Edit: I feel the need to say that, November 9, 2007, 10:37 PM, I actually played Get Notes enough to get L down to 7 lbs - enough that he wouldn't play anymore. But, his Happy was still down a heart and I had to feed him a 'Cone' to get it back up. Then transformed into a Kuchitamatchi!

I will wait here for Mocha.

In other news, Tamatchi is still a Tamatchi because of pausing for school, and Digital Pet is still without life. I might start it up again tomorrow (weekend again!), possibly under the name 'Ryuk'. =P

And there goes Mocha! She's a Hitodetchi now.

Good night, everyone.

Well, it's been a full 10 days since I last posted, and honestly, not a lot has happened. School has kept me more busy than I like to be (and I like being somewhat busy) and only the P1 has been off pause, most of the time.

Kira is currently a 2 yrs old Ichigotchi, at 21 lb.s and 5 Training bars.
Latte turned into my first Kiwitchi. She is missing but one Training bar as an adult, and at 4 yr.s she is 41 lb.s.
Mocha followed in Latte's footsteps and became a Nikatchi. 2yr.s, 19 lb.s, and 4 training bars.
L. He is 2 yr.s, 32 lb.s because the games are annoying, and has 6 training bars. He is a Young Mimitchi.
Mametchi is still a Mametchi.
For fun, my friends made me start the Digital Pet again, as it was just a dead pet sitting by my computer. He is named Yam, after a joke between us. He turned into a human boy with spiky hair; I commented that he looked a lot like Pointy-Haired Boss from Dilbert, because he does. Tongue

Finally, my P1 turned from a Tamatchi to a Nyorotchi!! I really like having this character... He rises and falls at the same times I do (if every day was a weekend...-sigh-), the haphazard way he turns in the game. He kind of looks like a poop when he gets sick, though.

Like that? =p I think he's very cute. I had a Nyorotchi til two days ago.... I hope yours stays with you!

Ah!... Yes, like that. XD My eye just tends to focus on the big black triangle he'd form... I thought it was a poop glitch or something the first time I saw it!

Staying with me... I wish he had...
Nyorotchi just left me.

I'd just gotten around to, after so many years, finally beating the Water Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on my Nintendo 64. I finally beat Morpha, the boss, and went through all the cutscenes...

And then the beeping.

It's infuriating. Poor guy just sits there, sick, but pressing buttons does nothing.
I could only hold him in my hands and listen as his heart beat for the last time...
But right before he left, he grinned at me, with a new egg beside him. It was the sweetest thing.
Then Nyorotchi was no more.

But he left me that egg because he wanted me to have another go at it, right? He wanted me to keep another Tamagotchi alive. So after looking at that angel with the little '12 yrs' sign beside it, I picked up the egg.

It took five minutes to hatch. In that time I progressed a bit in my game and then remembered how the fun and addicting the Shooting Gallery is and got stuck in a cycle of free games for that, when it hatched.
And oh, how beautiful Babitchi are, eh?

I've decided to have fun with this Tama and not be stressed by keeping its weight down and playing the game. I will keep it always Full and Happy. Or at least, try.
Because I've already failed in this. I was doing my nightly music practice and hadn't paused him... He beeped so many times, it was painful to listen to, but I had to keep practicing...
At last it was over and I could tend to him.

Then I turned on my computer and logged on to TSS when he transformed into a Marutchi and promptly fell asleep.

Geez, I'm so bad at this. I should just stop now so that every post doesn't have to be my apologizing for not updating. I'd blame busyness again, but that's what I've been doing for the past 43 posts, so I'm not going to.
I will not!

But seriously busyness has kept the Tamagotchi off a good deal of the time, but I still have some updating to do for all y'allz. Because I love talking about myself and my things.

Kira is now a nice, healthy, overweight Mametchi. Aww. Of all the Tamagotchi I have right now, the Mametchi feels the most Tamagotchi-like and I have no clue why. It just does. MY JUDGMENT IS THE BEST AND MOST CORRECT AND NO ONE CAN QUESTION IT

Latte is still a Kiwitchi, but she has started seeing Kira a lot lately. I've set up this way, you see... I plan on having an ARMY of Oyajitchi. (That is the name of the secret character right)

Mocha is a Tarakotchi. I don't care if Mr. Potato Man here is a sign of bad care, I love the guy. Of course, Mocha is a girl, but, whatever...

L is a Sekitoritchi. I don't know what that means, but he's got a moehawk and what appears to be a skirt. He rules. He just dances the around the screen, throwing punches my way every second. L and Mocha will start seeing each other shortly.

Yam had a kid, who I named AAA because I'm incredibly lazy. He turned into a Digimon and then died of neglect. I'm not sure I'm sad. For people researching whether or not this 'Priestess of Syrinx' person is sane, I'll say yes. Wah!

On the Mini, Mametchi turned into a Ginjirotchi. This makes no sense.

And now to fulfill the 'Toasters' part of 'Of Toasters and Tamagotchi', I will fill you in on my Nintendogs.

I have two.
They are both Shih Tzu.
One is white with black spots. She is named Dawn.
One is white with light brown spots. He is named Logan.
They are on the Labrador & Friends version.

I had not seen them in almost a year, maybe less? When I entered the room they were brown with filth. I washed both of them and they turned a magicky white. Then I fed and watered them. After this they didn't hate me any more.
I played with them and tried to see if they would still recognize my voice. Logan knows his name very well, as well as what few tricks he knows. Dawn has never been one to come when I call her, but now it seems she barely every recognizes that I call. I must've had a much different voice when I adopted her.

I took them both for walks. I took Dawn to the Gymnasium, where she practiced her agility course. She has grown deathly afraid of the see-saw thingamawhatsits. She met some other dog, to whom she remained indifferent.
Logan went to the empty park. We played with the flying discs but he kinda never caught it so I have to start from the beginning and reward him for even bringing the disc back to me.
This got old fast and I reviewed what Sports & Toys items I had. Nothing interesting.
I'd like playing with the RC Helicopter a lot more if my dogs could pounce it out of the air.
Peach Kart's theme is annoying.

We walked back and found some other dog. Logan got it mad and it started chasing it around. We left.
We got home and I threw a soccer ball into the living room and watched them for a bit. After that I recorded myself saying 'you suck' several times into the White Record and then powered down.
I'm such a little child.

In other news, my P1 has since gone from Marutchi to Kuchitamatchi to Nyorotchi, again. It's great to see him again. I'll try for the Masukutchi next. (these bad characters are so much easier to get than good on this version. xD)

Hi guys.

So, since I've been gone...

My Nyorotchi has left me once again... I now have his little Marutchi. He's been surprisingly good at 0 full hearts constantly - I'm trying for the worst character. I'm bad at this, I know.

Just now I started up my Digital Pet once again and got the Babitchi Carl. He evolved into a strange black horse. I've never gotten an animal sprite like this one before, it's neat. I took a photo of it because it's solid black, it'd come up well on my nearing-8-years-old camera.

Please excuse the big white frame around the image... I'm not too good with my new image program yet! ^^
AHAHA LOOK AT THOSE STUPID-LOOKING FINGERS

In other news, Latte turned into an old woman today. Every other time I connect her with Kira, the battery warning goes off and I have to press reset. I've managed, though, to get to 3 faces with him.

...Mocha is gone...

I left to go play Animal Crossing. That's all I did. I'm in the other room and I hear a beeping pattern I've never heard before. I race over to my Tamagotchi and there, on the Camouflage Tamagotchi Connection Version 2, is my little Tarakotchi, lying on her face with a skull beside her. I must've not cared for her enough... I'm so sorry...

Now she is but an angel egg, flying forever upward. When I press 'A', I am informed that Mocha was 10 years old, 99 lb.s, a girl in the 5th generation of her family, and had 1326 Gotchi Points.
Meanwhile, her would-have-been husband, L, discusses his loss with a talking Christmas Tree.   Tongue

Kira is still a Mametchi and Latte still an old lady. Both batteries tend to go out when they connect, now, but it's not like they'll mate any time soon, I must wait until the V1 becomes an old man, as well.

Marutchi turned into a Kuchitamatchi and times are good.

Carl was confronted by his match-making service today. He and a nice little Rabbit-type creature had a son who I named Umi, as I have been watching a lot of Fushigi no Umi no Nadia lately. I left it on 'NAME' for a bit, but when I named him, he was already grown! A fat human boy.
Carl was Gen 1C, and my new kid is Gen 2A. Why?

So, what should I do with my Camo V2? I'm thinking I might take the battery out and put it away for a bit, save it as hatching material for the next group-hatch or something... Or should I restart now? Gah..

Well, I got a three-day weekend this week, as on Sunday night there was a massive snowfall and school became optional. My Tamagotchi benefited much from this.

Somehow, despite my constantly keeping him at 0-1 hearts, my Kuchitamatchi became another Kuchipatchi! Not that I'm complaining. Wink

I finally changed my Tamagotchi Connection and V2's batteries, and connected Kira and Latte a lot. Just now Kira evolved into an old man and he and the old lady had two wonderful baby boys. Now, all three Tamagotchi Connections have sons, as L has still not left.
