I'm thinking about getting a Poo-chi or a Meow-chi from ebay. They're going for fairly cheap, and they're cuties. However, I've never had one and I don't know too much about them, since I was really young when my friend had one and I only played with it like once... Is it worth it to get one?

Ahh I was just going to make a thread about my old friends. =D
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Poo-Chi and Meow-Chi. Maybe that's just me, they were my alternative to Furby because Poo-Chi was so much cheaper.

They have a little less interactivity than a Furby (old), as they just do different barks and meows. If you're going to get only one, I'd suggest getting the Meow-chi. Their aging is much more obvious: there's a stage at which they are a kitten with their eyes shut for an hour, and then they move to the next stage at which their gender is determined based on how you treated it as a kitten (this feature isn't in the Poo-Chi). A male will have eyes with eyebrows and have a deep 'Nyo-' sound for its meow, while a girl will have eyes with large eyelashes and a high-pitched 'Nya' sound. The more you play with it, the more willing it will be to sing and dance and stuff for you.
You can go into 'song selection' mode on either Poo-Chi or Meow-Chi at any age, though.

That's from a virtual petists viewpoint though.

As a toy, Poo-Chi is much more animated, had nicer sounds, has better songs (in my opinion) and his gears are light years quieter.

I don't know about the other pets like Chirpy-Chi, though.
I had a Super Poo-Chi, as well. They're a lot of fun if you can manage to take good physical care of it. Mine is permanently broken, currently.

Poo-Chi and Meow-Chi, as well as the later toys in the Robo-Chi brand interact in adorable ways, and I think because Tiger made both Furby and the Robo-Chi brands they interact with Furby as well, but I might be wrong.

See to it that the items you buy are in good shape. Even back then, it did feel as though these guys were a tad delicate..

Ahh, I need to get new batteries for mine. I miss them now. x)

Yeah they have a very small amount of them on ebay, but theyre really cheap too. I usually get my stuff in boxes unless its a set of multiple from a reputable seller. Even in the boxes, the poo-chi is only about 10 USD. Do the poo-chi and meow-chi interact with one another?

Poo-Chi and Meow-Chi interact with each other. Their interactions differ depending on their mood at the moment.

If they're happy, they start singing in unison, it's very cute. =3

Hmmm, then maybe I'll give myself a treat sometime around christmastime and get a second one or something. I remember playing with my friend's poochi one time and loving it and wanting one. This was around the time that my family had almost no money and my mother thought that Tamagotchis gave kids seizures so I never got either. So now I want it all XD

I had a Poo-chi once!

I saved up my pocket money for it. Like Priestess said, they're a bit less interactive than the Furby, but still so cute nonetheless! Especially when its eyes light up in heart shapes. ^.^

It was a while ago I had it, but I remember the cat was curious about it whenever it was making noises and moving its ears. If you can pick them up for that cheap, yeah go for it. Nice little thing to have around.

Alright, I think when I pay off my overdraft fees from the bank I'll go and get one. They always do this to me! I do all the math nice and neat and they put it in the system in a different order and instead of the one accidental overdraft fee, I get three or four. Now I owe the stupid bank about $103. It stinks...

I think I'll get the Poo-chi though. Maybe towards Christmas I'll get the Meow-chi like I was thinking before. I haven't seen a single Chirpy-chi on eBay that was not a McDonalds toy, but I don't like the look or the sound of them so that doesn't matter much to me.

And what is this song selection thing you were talking about, Priestess?

When Poo-Chi or Meow-Chi is on but not doing anything, you cover the light sensor (on the nose of Poo-Chi and in between the eyes of Meow-Chi) and press the touch sensor (either one on the Meow-chi) very rapidly for a second. Their eyes will turn to hearts and they will make a beeping noise that, if you can read Morse, sounds a little like '..-' . Then you press a touch sensor 1 to 8 times, each amount of presses triggering a different song.

They will bark or meow a little tune (some lasting around a minute) and dance to it.

Afterwards they will return to normal.

On normal mode they will randomly sing songs when in a good mood. The higher 'age' they have, the more songs they will sing, and the variety will be greater. All of these songs can be accessed at any age through the song selection trick.

I don't know why, but my Poo-Chi always got upset with me after I made him sing 'Bingo'.

I'm rather curious about these robo-like pets that dance and can interact. I might look into a Meow-chi next time AAA batteries are needed.

just a piece of advice, get a furby instead.
it's cute at the first 5 minutes but it get's really boring
I dunno about meow-chi but the poo-chi's are boring.
For me, Furby is still nicer, I still play with it until now hahahah Tongue
