Nothing illegal, please.

http://www.lemondemon.com
^ Lemon Demon. 4 songs from each of his albums plus some are for download for free there. Some are completely clean, some would deserve a warning for language. The lyrics are also on the website so if you're concerned about that you can look in advance, I guess. 'Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny' is his most famous song. I own his latest album, 'Dinosaurchestra'. It is truely amazing and I have gotten my friend into wanting it too.

Yayyyyy, I love promoting my friends' bands!

They all have MySpaces or something similar so there are tracks to listen to for all of them. Grin Of course, MySpace being what it is, I can't promise there won't be adult language somewhere on it - so consider yourself warned!

I've known my friend Thom for seven years or so, and he's a very talented artist. He's studying jazz guitar at my university. I looooove him. Here are just some of the bands he's in. He tends to do kind of experimental jazz, so be prepared!

Juicebox's MySpace. Two tracks on there that are synth-y remixes of their live shows. Really great female vocalist, awesome catchy tracks, really danceable!

The Cherries's MySpace. A bunch of tracks, more jazzy than Juicebox.

Then there are some bands he was in that are a little less active these days.

Flattstreet's homepage. Two albums available for download! I looooove This Dog Is Big. They were huge for a while but then everyone sort of split up, they haven't played a show in a long time. (Some adult language in lyrics)

Birdseyeing It's MySpace. Three tracks to listen to there, and they are all just SO beautiful. But I don't think they're active much anymore, since Sarah moved to New York City to be a model. I suspect "The Ruins of Ancient Crete" is about me. Grin

Sarah has her own band, I don't know how active it is because I'm not really in touch with her. It's called Jungletalk. It's electronica.

Another one of my favourite bands that is on MySpace (although I don't know any of them personally) is Deerhoof. They range a lot but it's all experimental, kind of poppy noise rock or math rock or art rock or something like that.

All my other favourites, I don't know where you can find tracks to listen to... if I find any, I will be sure to post them!

Oooh, neat topic!

I have a few friends myspace pages, I'll have to search through them to find them, so for now I'll just post up a youtube link to quite possibly my favourite song at the moment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okLCurB1lJw

If you have a few minutes, please do watch it! It's from a band Sigur Ros, it's very calming and the first time I heard it was at about 5am at a friends place. This video clip and song took my breath away and is the music to many good memories of mine. It's very very beautiful. =)

Well, then, if we can post links to MySpace...

http://www.myspace.com/thepicture - The Picture...I don't know what to say about them. They're working on the website for their new album right now, so no tracks are free to download at the moment. I like their old album, Connect, more than how this one is sounding, but I'm sure it'll grow on me.

http://myspace.com/julienk - Julien-K. Possible content warning. Their song, 'Technical Difficulties' was used in the soundtrack for Transformers. They said their first album would be out in 2005. It's not out yet. Please ignore the fact that they were paid to write music for the Sonic the Hedgehog games.

http://www.myspace.com/magnafi1 - Magna-Fi. 'Breaking Up' is a good song.

Oh good!! I have the Milk Man album, which is probably their poppiest album, but I LOOOVE it. "Giga Dance" is my favourite song.

Did you get a chance to hear any of Thom's bands? I guess you didn't like them as much?

No, I did check them out, but I'm not really into jazzy stuff that much. =/ Sorry. I might give Juicebox another look, though.

I checked out all your links. Smiley Thanks for posting them! They were really interesting.

Shiny Toy Guns sounded a LOT like Le Tigre, you know them right? They are really good too.

Boards of Canada was pretty awesome, but after I got their rhythm I was like, come on, change something up more!

I knew of Aphex Twin already, but I had forgotten about them - I used to listen to them all the time on my university's iTunes network. Thanks for reminding me!

Now I want to go buy an Aphex Twin album. And a Le Tigre album actually! I miss the U of T iTunes network. Sad

I am totally jamming to "Windowlicker", I'm going to plug in my good speakers and make this tonight's soundtrack. Cheesy Thanks so much!!

I'm glad you liked my music!! Cheesy Cheesy

I have every single CD of Boards of Canada, and their songs are all unique in their own way..although I'll admit they do use the same beats and rhythms a lot..I still love them though. Their music is so mellow and strange that I feel like I'm just floating around in space..I love that feeling.

I've heard of Le Tigre, but I haven't heard their music! I'll have to check them out! Smiley

One of Shiny Toy Guns songs was played /all the time/ on radio around here, but other than that, they are pretty great! ^^

Also, I'm familiar with Boards of Canada because their CD named 'Aquarius' kept showing up when I was searching for the AQUA CD, 'Aquarius'. x_x

[Warnin's: Link may or may not look as of '08]

'Moshpit on Disney' is a CD only available in Japan. Rock and Fusion covers of classic Disney songs.
And a heavy metal cover of 'The Mickey Mouse Club'. Prepare to have your childhood ruined! =D
(Somehow they got Reel Big Fish to do 'It's Not Easy' <3)
