Tonight's group hatch went really well! ILT asked me to record what everyone hatched and what they got, so here's the summary.

me: I hatched my Keitai for the first time and got a baby girl. It took me ages to input the name because I kept missing the letter that I wanted, and the Keitai not only cycles through every single hiragana character, but also a ton of punctuation, symbols, pictures, even arrows pointing in different directions! The first name that came to mind was my mother's name, because I wanted something that looked pretty in hiragana, and also because my parents are on vacation right now and I miss them. So I named her Madoka. I had space for two extra characters so I added "san" at the end. Smiley

Priestess of Syrinx brought a friend along named SB, and the two of them hatched three V1s. Priestess's V1 was a boy whom she named Mlvin (short for "Melvin"). SB used a Transformers theme, because they had gone to the movie tonight, and named her two V1 boys Prime (for "Optimus Prime") and Mgtrn (for "Megatron"). Personally I think those names are hilarious and adorable, so big ups to SB for the concept.

Fry hatched his brand new V4.5, which I am still steaming jealous over. Grin He got a girl, and he named her Augst (short for "August") to commemorate his first V4.5 hatch taking place in August.

Dennis hatched a Morino.

ILT came by a little bit late due to family obligations, and hatched her V4. She got a girl whom she named Ash! (exclamation point included).

Kat was also there and brought Corndog to enjoy the event. She didn't hatch anything.

After an hour, we started to hear transformation music!

Madoka-san became a Hitodetchi
Melvin, Prime and Megatron became Marutchis
August became a Tamatchi

Of course, Dennis's Babymotchi won't be transforming until tomorrow. That's a quirk of Morinos.

ILT had to go before Ash! grew up, so I'm sure she'll be posting here about her progress.

Let's make this thread a groupblog about how our Tamagotchis grow up together. Cheesy

Edit: Somehow the idea got into my head that Dennis hatched two Morinos when he actually just hatched one.

Great thread. Congrats to ILT for a successful group hatching!

Sorry I did not hatch. It's way easier to learn a new Tama if I do it one and one situation. Corndog is great and I'm really enjoying the 4.5 Smiley

I wish the best of luck to all of you on your hatchings!

The hatch went really well. I loved chatting with everyone Cheesy. The group hatches just keep getting better and better every time we have them.

Elana, I only have the one Morino ^^. I must have confused you. Sorry if I said something to mislead you in chat last night. Even if I did have two Morino's, I don't think I'd be able to care for both of them at once. Wink Hehe.

Great job Elana and thanks Kat! Ash! transformed this morning at 11:00.

  Madoka-san's First Day

I mistakenly thought Hitodetchis wake up at 8:00 AM, so I set my alarm for eight. I pulled Madoka-san out of the drawer and saw that she was still asleep. I call that a pleasant surprise! It turns out that she sleeps until 9:00.

Of course, I gave myself an inch and took a mile, and slept in until ten. My excitement for having a Keitai did get me to check her status whenever the snooze alarm went. She was a very good girl and actually didn't need any attention for that entire hour!

Normally, I just take Pink Tama to work with me, and pause everyone else. But when I tried to pause Madoka-san, it didn't work! It turns out that A + B doesn't pause Keitais. I could have just gone to the clock set screen, but I decided thatI just shouldn't pause her. I'm playing with her old-school. Grin

I held her in my hand while I walked to work. I haven't done that in a very, very long time. Goes to show how excited I am about her. She is so pretty. The paint seems glossier, the screen is still so new and unscratched (compared to my other Tamas), and the colours are very well coordinated. My HK V2 also has the plastic tag instead of the keyring, but it's a yellow tag with a dark pink body - doesn't look so good. The Keitai has a true pink shell and a dark pink tag - looks very adorable. I kept looking at her while I walked. Smiley

She and Mav (the Kuchipatchi on Pink Tama) got a place of honour at work today. Normally I keep Pink Tama behind me, next to the phone, but today because I had my Keitai, I wanted to keep closer watch. So they both settled on a corner of the cash register, so I could glance down at them whenever I wanted.

She was a very good girl, and I was able to take very good care of her. It helps that she reminds me with small beeps whenever she poops. She was frequently hungry, and I tried to give her a balanced diet. I fed her mostly onigiri. I got vegetable tempura udon for lunch from the Japanese restaurant in our plaza, so I fed her fish while I ate my lunch.

The man with the cart came by on the Keitai while I was at work, selling something that I didn't recognize. I didn't have enough Gotchi points for it anyway.

I bought a little gift for my friend Angelo, so I was carrying that in my hand on the walk home. So Madoka-san went into my purse. She was tucked into the corner of my vinyl cowprint mini-backpack from 1997 - soooo tacky, but just the right size for work, and won't get dirty. I don't want to scare off the comic shop customers by being too fashiony. Wink

She's been at my side all evening, while I ate dinner, and while I played half-hour-long phone tag with the toy department at my local Wal-Mart. Long story short: they don't have 4.5's yet. Angry

The travelling salesguy came back while I was eating dinner, to try to sell a melon. I couldn't afford it either. Sad

Dinner for me was pizza, and for Madoka-san, it was pasta. Smiley

She's gone to sleep now, a happy little star, full on all hearts.

Groupblog, eh?

Well, Melvin ,and I'd assume Prime and Megatron with SB, are all still Marutchi.

Melvin pooped a couple of times today and got upset maybe once. When he fell asleep there was one poop on the screen that I had missed - I wish this one had a poop alert sound. He feel asleep with 3 full Hungry-hearts, 3 full Happy-hearts, 4 bars of Training, and a good 10 lbs.

While he is very nice as a pet, the simplicity of the V1 doesn't provide much to write about. I didn't do anything interesting today that Melvin could have been a part of - I lazed around and cleaned around a bit, that's it.

SB is, however, very happy that Elana approves of her Tamagotchi's names. ^^
