Jiro recently bought a TamaOtch from this seller for an excellent price, so I was looking through their stock, and found some stuff I have never seen before. Does anyone have any idea what this stuff is?

"Angel Mail Town"

Some sort of finger-touching game

Both of these have the official Bandai logo on them, so I have no doubt that they are somehow cool, but I don't know what they are.

The finger-touching one looks like maybe it's a compatibility game? Maybe the lights light up which character suits your body heat or something?

My mother is in Florida right now, otherwise I'd ask her to translate the back of the packages. If everyone is still baffled by Thursday when she gets back, I'll ask her.

My parents got home from Florida tonight so I was able to ask my mom to translate the packaging in the pictures.

Angel Mail Town sounds really really cool, but hopelessly unusable for non-Japanese people. It's like a little wireless device that sends mail to other people with that wireless device (presumably with a limited range). I think you can create little avatars and walk around a little town and play games and things with other people with the device on the network, but its basic functionality is to send each other messages. It's a little redundant to anybody with a cell phone, but it would be really cool if enough people had it and we all knew Japanese. It would be free text messages with cute games and avatars.

The second device also has a bunch of different functions. All those little squares are buttons, and you can switch out the cardboard piece to play different games. It can read your horoscope and stuff. And the touch-sensors are to tell you your mood or your compatibility with your crush.

I wish Bandai would make an Angel Mail Town in English. Either that or I wish I knew Japanese and had lots of friends who also had that toy and also knew Japanese.
