Oooh my friend from America sent me Reeses Peanut Butter Cups last week... let me just say they have to be one of THE MOST nicest chocolate treats I've ever had!

She also sent me Twinkies, which weren't bad. I had been dying to try one my whole life, and she was nice enough to send me a whole box of them.  Grin

There's actually a thing on the news about some hershey products having a salenelia(sp?) scare in them and are doing a huge recall. check on the back of your Reese's peanut butter cups or any other chocolate by the company. Look for a 4 digit number. I think if the numbers are between 6417 and 6455 its bad. Just thought I should post a head's up.

Yes, it's "salmonella" that we should be watching out for. I'm pretty sure it's only we Canadians who have to worry. It was the Canadian maritime Hershey factory that had the problem. Don't worry, international community!

Salmonella in peanut candies?

Where did it came from? The milk they made chocolate for the candies had salmonella in it?
I never thought salmonella can move from cow to milk.

Yeah, it's weird, isn't it? Not sure how that happened... but here's a citation for you, even though it doesn't answer your particular question. http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2006/11/12/recall.html

They said an ingredient in them was or could be tainted so yeah. Dunno what ingredient either. It's strange, but better safe than sorry later you know? Last thing they want is someone sueing them.
