I've been playing piano for more than five years now, although I stopped taking lessons I think 2 years ago when my teacher dissapeared strangely..
I played the violin for a while, but I never liked it as much as the piano. Piano is the only instrument I have that you can just sit down and play, without having to tune it and get everything ready before you start.
Also for a tiny amount of time I played the herty-gurty (no idea how its actually spelled) Its a kind of cross between piano and violin. It has a wheel in the center of it that vibrates the strings, and then there are keys like a piano on the neck of the instrument that press on the strings when pushed down. It has a very strange sound, but its really fun to play. Heres a picture with explanations: http://www.hurdygurdy.farmcom.net/parts2.jpg

Ooh wow, that looks like a very interesting instrument. I don't think i've ever heard one or even seen one in person.

Piano is very nice. My mother used to play it lots when I was younger, I'd just lay down and listen to her play, she was very good Smiley

I actually think I played that a little while back, it was set up in a Wal-Mart. It had a small black and white guitar for the controller, with square colored buttons on the fretboard.
Anyways, I only played for like fifteen seconds, but I still sucked at it. But It was a pretty fun game.
So maybe I've played it before, but I wasn't aware of what I was playing at the time, lol.

University really drained me of practice time, but I used to play guitar. I still have my callouses at least! And I played piano even longer ago. But my favourite instrument is my voice! Very little formal training, but I sing allllll day. I just got home from my a cappella choir rehearsal.  Grin

Fry: yup that's it! Smiley  It takes practice to learn the controller well, but after that... it's a matter of learning the songs Smiley

Elana: Ooh I love singing too but... I don't think I can sing well.  but I will sing - and quite horribly - every song I know at any hour of the day at the top of my lungs. Especially while playing FFXI. Though... I usually do this while I'm home alone =)

One of my roommates last year brought his PlayStation and Final Fantasy VIII... I've played that game through so many times, I was singing along with every part. I knew all the theme music, and I would even sing the sound effects. Playing video games has always been an intensely auditory experience for me.  Smiley He joked that I was his surround sound system.  Grin

lol that's so awesome  Cheesy

I need to play some of the other FF's, I played a bit of 6 last year but I need to continue where I left off. Brendan has all of them, I just haven't gotten around to them. I'm starting on my 4th year playing XI.. I don't know if I should laugh or cry or just be embarrassed about that Wink
