Hi everyone, Lord Monkey here with a request on board policy. Let me start this out by saying I hate spam and the people who propagate it. I mean, I really hate them. If there was a way to biologically impair them so that they couldn't reproduce I would do it to them twice. Even (especially) if it involved rusty hedge clippers. That being said, I hate to bring up that TSS has had it's first spam advertiser.

I'd like to first say that everyone who did see the message did a spectacular job in handling them. Not responding, not baiting, etc. is exactly how these jerks need to be handled.

In the future, I have only one request: If you happen upon a piece of spam, please use the "Report to Moderator" link located at the bottom of every post. That link will send Kat and I (and any other moderator/admin) an email with your comments on the message you're reporting. When I'm at work, I can't check my PMs, but I can definitely check my email and then take a few minutes to ban and delete them, and trust me, I'm more than happy to do so. I know Kat always has an email client open as well, even if TSS isn't the screen she's looking at.

So, thanks to everyone for doing the right thing when this waste of human tissue felt like coming into our little community. Keep it up!

I can see that Elana and TigerLily both sent Kat and I a Report to Moderator announcement, you two rock! Wanted to make sure everyone was aware. I'll be keeping an eye on my mimitchi.com email from now on^^

What do you think of posting "reported" after spotting and reporting a spam post? The pros are that you won't get multiple emails reporting the same spam post, but the con is bumping the spam post.

It's a good idea, but I'd personally rather get 10 emails from you guys letting us know there's a spammer, than giving the spammer the top spot on that board, plus all the Newest and Unread Post slots that will be made because of posting "Reported."
