The Tamagotchi Addiction Test has been revised, updated and automated.

Addiction Test

1. The questions have been updated. Some were removed all together, some were changed or reworded. Questions were meant to be humorous before but some people took it a bit too seriously and didn't realize I was just being funny sooooo now the questions are still somewhat humorous but I've made them a little more realistic and serious.

2. The script now works in ALL browsers and calculates correctly. No more problems with scores.

3. Scoring and posting to the Addicts Score Table is now totally automated; no more waiting on my lazy butt to post them manually. Brendan wrote this script to make everything so much easier. Smiley

Enjoy and let me know your thoughts! Smiley

I definitely laughed out loud at some of those questions - some because I was doing it right at that moment, and others because they were so totally bizarre! Taking a bath with your Tamagotchi in a floatation device?? I wouldn't dare risk my Tamagotchi's life! But I'll be honest, when I was on the archaeological dig two summers ago, I seriously considered putting my Tamas in a ziploc bag so that I could play with them without getting them covered in dirt and sand - but I ended up just pausing them.

What a fun test though! I only got 46% - time to start using it as a checklist I guess! But I'm sorry that it told me that my interest in Tamagotchis was just a fad. After 53 generations, I should say that it's been a little more than a fleeting interest!

haha! I knew someone that did the floatation device a long long time ago Smiley I've very glad you enjoyed it, that's really nice to hear Smiley

To tell you the truth I haven't quite perfected how to do the percentages I think I'm close and right before I posted it I was thinking I should have the next level at 45 but I didn't change it, I wanted to see what ppl were getting. I have changed it and this is the message you should have gotten:

Quote
You are addicted, but far from obsessed. You are probably one of the best caretakers, but you don’t really take your love for your Tama too far, and you are probably able to live a life as well as care for your Tamagotchi. Even though your Tamagotchi is important to you, you have more in your life to attend to, and this is not a bad thing.

I also removed references to "fad" that is from back in the day when I first posted the test when the fad was huge.

Thanks for the compliments and help debugging it ^^

Edit: Also... Brendan is gonna edit the database so it lists the Addicts Scores in order, right now they are not in any order Smiley

I took the Tamagotchi addiction test before, but I could never get the score to work. When I saw that it was all fixed up I decided to do it again. I got an 84% and it said that I had a healthy addiction and I was an excellent caretaker! Smiley

I know this topicc is now a little old, but I felt the need to comment - because I HAVE put my Tamagotchi in the bathtub in a flotation device - sort of. It was back when I got my very first Tama. I wanted to take a bath with him. I got a little plastic boat and put him in it and he took a bath with me, floatin' around cutely. I think I got 79% on the test or so.

Hehe! I know of others who have too. =)

I cleaned up the score table... again. It's amazing that people are so willing to make such idiots of themselves by writing obscene things. I have to clean that out once a week, sometimes more. I may poke brendan to write me something to help prevent the garabage that people so think they are allowed to write. Some people.. i swear...
