Since I'm new, I have a few Questions.

-What is karma and how do I get it?
-What is spamming and can someone tell me how you spam?

That's all for now. Please help me.

I read Karma ratings and I think I know now so now I'm only asking about spamming.

You seem to understand exactly what spamming is, even though you may not realize it! Wink Cheesy

Spamming is posting a lot of unnecessary messages with very little content in them. It makes it worse if you post a whole bunch of those messages one after another. So this thread is a pretty good example of spam! Wink Grin

To be polite to your fellow readers, you can modify your old posts instead of adding a new post right after it. Always think carefully about what you want to say before you say it, and always check to see if your questions have already been answered in another thread.

Another important tip is to make sure that your messages are in the right section, and that their titles actually give a hint about what the subject of the thread is. So this thread is an example of a vague name, in the wrong section. It should be in Tamagotchi Social Sphere Board Feedback. Maybe a better title is, "What is spam?" or something like that.

I know you didn't mean it this time, but being courteous to each other and trying to keep this place tidy is what makes it a pleasant place for everyone. Cheesy

Good luck with all your posts!

My karma keeps going down. I think I'm on pace for -1000 or something. How can I get it up a little bit?

There's no surefire way to get people to give you karma. People give karma to posts that they like. I can tell you what would make me give you karma, if it's any help. Smiley

I like posts that are well-written, creative, and give me some new information. I really like posts that tell me about new Tamagotchi that are coming out, or Tamagotchi in the news, or reviews of Tamagotchi products that I have never played with. I like reading logs that are well-written, with a creative spin. I like posts that have people's opinions written in a clear, polite and well-reasoned manner. I am especially likely to give karma if I see that a person is always writing interesting posts.

What I don't like are posts that are only one line long, and/or don't introduce any new information. Posts that just say "I like that" or "I didn't know that" or something are kind of a waste of time to read. Turning a post like that into a good post is just a matter of explaining why you like that or whatever. That's what turns it from spam into an interesting opinion.

I am especially likely to smite someone if I see that they are always writing one-liners with nothing meaningful in them.

I believe that it's better to stay quiet until you have something good to say!

I hope that helps! Maybe others will say what makes them give people karma.

I will take your advice. But my friend, he is at 0 karma and he keeps smiting my posts. I don't like it when he does that. That is partially why I probably have the lowest karma on this site. Whenever I see my karma go down It's him I have to blame. About 2  or 3 of my negative karmas were his fault.
