Which Tama?
«

Well, I thought about getting a new Tama. But which one? Help me decide by saying which one is your favorite, and why.
I already have a P1, P2, Morino, V1-V3.
If you're making a suggestion, please say why. I was considering about the Tamagotchi Ocean, but I think I might try another one instead. But I'm up to the challenge though! I raised all of my Tamas at the same time once and got.. semi good characters!
A V4 sounds nice, but most of Tamatown isn't up. I'll wait for that first. Before I buy it.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!

if I were you...
I'd buy a V4, even though most of the things are not finished in Tamatown
the experience you get from the V4 alone is a lot of fun!
second choice is Tamagotchi ocean. you're looking for a challege right? this might be perfect for you
better get an Ocean ASAP, as they're getting rare on ebay... I searched for weeks! until I finally got an ocean...
so you better think fast if you want an ocean...

American version : V4
It has better tamatown interface compared to V3s and it can still hook up with V1-V3s.
But if you do not mind japanese tamas.. then go for the uratamas... it's much much better interface with tamatown. the only draw back is that it will not hook up with your V1-V3s.
But lately I have been wanting to play with the tamagotchis without IR connectivity ie: Angelgotchi, Forgestgotchi, Devilgotchi.. we will see what happens..

If you want more of a casual Tama, Angel is nice and fun. For something completely different from the norm, you could try getting a Digimon - they are loads of fun
But yes for a true challenge, Ocean is the sure pick. ^.^

^^ I actually got my Digi out the other day. It's an American first generation one =D I'm getting sick of Agumon and Greymon though, so I'm trying something else. Did you hear about the IC? It's like the Tamagotchi Connection version of Digimon! I was thinking about that but..
The Angelgotchi seems worth a try though. I may get one later this year, but not right now

I have a question for everyone suggesting V4. What are the positive and negatives about it? Whats so great about it that makes it so different from V3? I remember disliking V3 a bit because some of the characters ... actions didn't really look Tamagotchish and overused.
Maybe I should consider the price range as well. Ocean is.. $45+ Canadian with shipping? That might be a problem since I'm low on money; but I can work for the money anyway. But the V4 is only around $20.00 and I can probably get them at local stores.
So what do you guys think?
(OR I CAN JUST GET ANOTHER MORINO
)

I don't like the "fix method" of getting a certain characters on the V4. With a higher skill points you would end up with a character that is on the chart, that element of surprise (in V3) is no longer there.
In the uratamas you can buy stuff to boost up your skill points and better and nicer games on the japanese tamatown. But on the american tamatown, they don't have stuff to boost the skills points and games are same as V3s.
Those are my dislikes... for likes, very little - have some new characters that are kind of cute. Different games on V4 - only flags is the same game on V3.
That's that!

like I said before, Ocean is pretty rare right now...
The Japanese ones are also fading away, thats why I bought one the other day (my sister bought it for me!
)
well... better decide fast... Ocean used to be cheaper than this, but the price is getting higher and higher because its getting rarer... it may end up like the US Ocean! $100++ *gasp*
and if you wanna buy a V4, just go for it, the V4.5 is gonna be released soon...
V4 is a great tama... full of secrets

Oooor, you could wait until the 4.5 is released, because the price always goes down when something new comes out.
That's my secret tactic.

From the types of Tamas I own, here are some summaries:
V2: Pretty rare now, but possibly my favorite non-Japanese version. The characters are cute, there are some very nice shell designs, there's a shop, and there are games ranging in length depending on if you like short, simple games, or more interactive games. In my opinion, the babies are easiest to raise on the V2.
V3: Still some out in stores, get them while you can! Very nice Tamagotchi. Some of the characters aren't that cute, but are made up for by EXTRA cute characters. New items in the shops, and new games. Unfortunately, there aren't any games you can play within a minute (without losing), so if you don't like to give your characters snacks and/or are in a rush, you're out of luck. However, if you're not in a rush, and don't mind spending the extra time, the games are quite fun. The babies aren't as easy to raise on the V3 as they are on the V2, but still okay.
V4: This one's okay, but not the greatest. The characters are pretty cute, but could be better. The mail function's cute, but beware of robbers, snakes and poos. I like the jobs, and the rest of the games are really cute too. However, they too require time and patience. The babies are quite hard to raise, but the toddlers are all rewarding.
Uratama: The designs are VERY nice on this Tama. On top of the antenna is a star and in place of a keychain is a string with star beads on it. Characters are ALL adorable and this is one of the most interactive Tamagotchis. Everything about it is detailed, for example, instead of dots on the egg, there are tiny little stars. In place of a shop is a cart vendor who comes twice a day. Babies are VERY easy to raise on this Tama!
