Mimitchi.com gets over 60,000 hits per month, which is a nice size for a small specific audience site like this one. I've peaked over 100k a month a few times every year around the holidays.
Just not many of them are interested in the chat board, they come for the info they want and leave heh
I adore this color layout and we just launched it 6 months ago, chances of me changing it any time soon is not high. I like colorful and nice on the eyes. I find pure white themes or pure black themes to be blinding and unwelcoming (hence why I'll never look like tamatalk as Black Candy suggested). I like to be original.. I'm happy I am ^.^ Maybe a color change will happen down the road, but... thats far into the future ^.^
We are still new and with so much competition... well in the end it's quality over quantity. We have so many nice people here and they all make great thoughtful posts. I think thats far better then having 5,000 people with only mediocre post quality. Also many of us are older as well as younger - it's a nice mix of community.
I think Jiro is right too about the holidays... things slow down after the holidays and we launched in the holiday season.
