Good luck with your petition, but I'm not entirely sure what posting it in these forums will accomplish (unless one of our fine members happens to be a Nickelodeon exec or something).

If you're old enough to remember some of the older shows Nickelodeon used to show, you should realize there isn't much(if anything) you can do about this. Hardly any of those original shows even air on Nickelodeon anymore, atleast according to their website and my younger brothers.
What kids think is funny nowadays is changing, so to please the public Nickelodeon has to change right along with them.

TV shows won't run forever and ever. Everything good comes to and end, even Spongebob Squarepants.

Think of it, how many years you have enjoyed Spongebob's seabottom humour? Many. I think he was introduced in 2002.

I love spongebob as much as the next guy, unfortunately tv stations aren't so good at listening to viewers. This came as news to me when you posted it, but it does make sense being that it's been on the air for a very long time and stations like Nick like to keep their programming fresh for new audiences. I miss many shows and I'm sure spongebob will join the ranks with the rest; I dearly miss You Can't Do That On Television and Hey Dude from way back when I was younger.

I suggest though if you are serious about this to make a petition online (such as at a place like: http://www.ipetitions.com/) and spread the word through friends, family and spongebob forums online. Good luck!

Honestly, stevomin. Did you read through this topic before you replied?

If you did that, I think you haven't replied into this topic the way you did, so you didn't read all the posts. Seems that you read only the first post...

If that's really true, then it's doubtful we can do anything about it. If they're going to cancel a show, they're going to cancel a show. Although, honestly, I'm not sure that's even true. Where exactly did you hear about this? People can post anything online. Unless it was official Nick news, I'm not sure they're going to get rid of Spongebob. It's probably they're most popular show, so I can't really see why they'd want to dispose of it, unless, like Kat said, "to keep thier programming fresh for new audiences." But why don't they trash another show instead? Think about how much hate mail and stuff they'd get if they took away Spongebob. Just doesn't seem realistic to me, he's pretty much the Nick mascot.

I'm hard pressed to find an official news source with this item. Anyone find anything that makes this official?
