I dunno about the rest of you, but I despise - absolutely despise - people who think they can get away with anything if they put enough fine print in their auctions.

This morning Brendan sent me this video. He knows I don't particularly like Judge Judy, but today I think my opinion changed a bit in her favor today. Since so many of you buy from ebay, I figured I'd pass along this gem for y'all to enjoy.

Edit: Found same video on youtube.... that other site was not a good site.

I found the judgement hilarious. The phones are like close to 500 bucks and they get 5000! LOL! If that smart porky mouth of a seller kept going, it would of been 10,000 I betcha.

I believe Brendan told me once that this show has a cap of 5k reward, I could be wrong, I'm sure he'll correct me if he needs to when he reads the boards after work. If my memory is right though.. this women got the maximum reward and no doubt you are right, if the cap was at 10k I think she would have gotten it. That ebay seller is a disgrace to ebay and honest ebay sellers.

I can't believe how arrogantly that women went about her case, as IF she really had one. Stupidity must be pure bliss. I totally cracked up with Judy asked her if she had any CPS cases in process right now - that was GOLDEN.

Actually, from what I understand, cases on Judge Judy are from what we here in the states call: Small Claims Court. It's essentially set up so that individuals can sue each other for civil matters. There's two significant differences between Small Claims Court and a normal court of law: Individuals can not be represented by an attorney, they have to represent themselves, and there is a maximum limit of $5000 in damages that is allowed to be rewarded.

Often times, people attempt to sue for the maximum and receive less (they might claim pain and suffering or something, and the judge might think it's bogus) but it looks like Judge Judy felt like keeping the case at the maximum because of the libel^^
