Thanks for keeping on top of this! That link was really useful. I was pretty ambivalent about Pleo when I first heard about it, but after reading the technical specifications on that website, I got pretty excited. It definitely sounds like something I want to save up for. The part that I found the most amazing was the "force feedback sensors" in his bum - he detects when he's being handled roughly, and not only do the motors automatically shut down to prevent damage, but his behaviour will respond in the form of limping!
And not only that - he heals faster or more slowly depending on how much you nurture him afterwards!
That is a level of realism that I find really really appealing.
I hope Amazon will be shipping them to Canada. I look forward to hearing more about it when you get yours, CaffeineChick! (I'm a little jealous but also excited!)
