So is the Tamagotchi Connection V4.5 not shipping with the software? I thought it came with the microphone and software. Maybe that'll be some kind of 'bundle pack'.

Do you think it'll be available without the microphone for those already with a microphone?

I think that's exactly what it is. The 4.5 is now released on its own, and hopefully soon the bundle pack will be released, which includes a 4.5, software, and microphone.

Well as it would seem from the Tamagotchi.com website some products come with a 'free skin' coupon? You use it on this website where you use a Paint-like program to make a skin for the back or front (they're shaped) and you give them some info and they're sent to you in the mail.
Or at least that's how it seemed.

Is it known whether or not you have to use the Tamagotchi microphone? I already have a standard microphone for my computer.

Bandai American has messed up the V4.5 characters totally...

There is UraYoungMarotchi, but no UraMarotchi.

Shitekitchi is male-only character, but his description mentions two times that's he's female ( Tongue) (Also he looks female)

UraDebatchi is mentioned being a bird(??) and is female-only character. Right...

Now many characters are only male or female. But what if want to get a female Kuchipatchi? No way with this version

And this time Oyajitchi can be also FEMALE. Yeah. With all that goatee and stuff. Haha...

Why they kept the "ura" part of the UraTama names? Ura means about same as "another", so why they didn't rename the Ura characters to "AnoMametchi", "AnoKuchipatchi" and that way?

Maybe I stick to the V3s I like the most Roll Eyes

Edit: Seems that V4 has also these gender-specific characters. I had not figured out that before

Even with the somewhat strange character setup.. 4.5 is nice imo. I like the games more... I just never did like the copy pose or jump rope games. A female Oyajitchi.. is weird. I guess you can have a bearded lady....

Anyways.. it does seem like something happened in translation there with the naming system on v4.5.

But the idea of Oyajitchi being caricatyre of middle-age work-maniac "salaryman" type japanese male single fades totally away when Oyajitchi can be female.
In V3 Oyajitchi was male. I don't know about V2 and V1, but I guess Oya was male in those too.
Also there is no point when all the other adult characters are either male or female, but the secret character which comes from mating the "oldies" can be male AND female (thou his outlook is male). Not logical to me.

Other thing that I wonder in V4.5 characters is that the relations to japanese culture (that is usually "erased" away from all the the japanese kids cartoons/shows/toys that are brought to USA) are kept and you can see lots of referring to the japanese traditions.

Also most of the japanese names are kept and they have not changed them to "<insert english word here>tchi" as in V1 and V2.
That is great!

I think the Oyajitchi being female is pretty awesome. Also awesome is that it isn't very Americanised.

Kokuma, where was this Uradebatchi being listed as a bird and all that? I know BanDai has messed up their Characters page more than once (i.e., listing the Patapatatchi as a Hinotamatchi).

I've never really liked the characters being limited to one gender... I always thought of them more as a species than a single character.

Also, question: I've heard that the mail icon replaces the light icon in this version? Then how do you turn the lights off?

(three times awesome: I won't have to use a USB microphone! =D)
