That kind of representation is Japanese imagery for yawning, I think. On my V1s, when you see them yawn at night, you can put them to bed early, which gives them an extra happy heart if I recall correctly. They only do it early in the morning or in the last half hour or hour before bed.

You mean the same thing, like in Japanese cartoons and comics (and videogames) when character sleeps there comes bubble out of his/her nose that increases and decreases in size in same rhytm as breathing?

My tamas usually yawn about three seconds before bed, from what I've noticed.

Hmm, Kokuma... I know what you're talking about, but that looks quite a bit different from the yawning animation (as I'm sure you know). The snot-bubble thing is more to show sleeping than yawning, I think.

Update:  You can put your Tama to bed after it yawns on the V3!  And yes, I'm pretty confident that it's yawning.  I don't know about the happy heart think, but it's very convenient.  I can put it to bed when I need to if I'm busy or something.

The yawning that you all like to call it, but still in my mind is spitting. (I reject your realities and insert my own) Also happens in V4, but you cannot turn the light outs there.  also did you know if you press c for no reason on the V4 they will do a dance and the sun will pop up?  It's cute.
