Yeah, I have the 90's version... which I actually bought this summer in KiddieLand (Toystore in Harajuku)... I thought it was super weird that they would have new ones in the store?  The sounds on that thing are crazy loud... the beeps echo in my ears...

But yeah... the pockets are for some reason elusive

YesAsia has now Tekutekus in stock, both blue and pink version. (Somehow pink costs 3 dollars less than blue...maybe they come from different sources?)

Ooh, I want one! I've always loved the idea of a pedometer pet, but never got one. Anyone else have one? I don't think the VPet will be hard to use in Japanese, but maybe the DS diary? Oh, well, it may seem like a lot of money, but  NDS games are usually $25-$35 USD and VPets $15, so imagine the game $30ish and the Pet 15... $45. So it's not super expensive; it's the price you'd probably pay in a store. You can't return it, though, so I might want a review from one of you TSS-ians first, but I'll probably love it anyway.

I've tried to find english review or similar document about TekuTeku but all the reviews seem only to have the basic information like what the gadget is and how it works (calculates steps and raises little creature which becomes ugly and fat or cute and small depending how much you walk with the gadget - we know that already)

The VP seems to be sold in Japan alone, or with Nintendo DS "walk diary" software. The software also is sold alone without the VP.
When you buy Tekuteku from online store remember to check if it's only the VP or is it the "with DS Diary" bundle. (Yesasia sells only the bundle)

Looks like the VP is easy to use without the skill to read japanese but the software has quite a lot of text that isn't written with the "simplified" hiragana/katakana characters so it will be challenge to those who study japanese - like me.
