So here in Canada, Sunday is Father's Day.

According to Wikipedia, the following countries will be celebrating Father's Day on Sunday: Argentina, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.

It seems to be the most popular day to celebrate Father's Day in the world, but if your country is not on this list, I apologize for the ethnocentricity and hope you can join in the celebrations anyway!

To me, Father's Day is about celebrating the men in our lives that helped raise us and make us who we are today. It doesn't have to be about biology.

So I thought that we could make Father's Day on TSS a day to recognize all the wonderful male Tamagotchi caretakers we have on this board! I think paternal instincts are really unappreciated sometimes, as if it's not "cool" or whatever for a guy to want to care for something small and vulnerable, be it a baby, a flower, or a vpet. But I know that I met a lot of really sweet guys on TSS who are really kind Tama-fathers. Since they're so outnumbered, I'm sure we girls on the board can really overwhelm them with nice notes and support and hugs!

Thanks for being great Tama-dads and such a great part of this community!

Part 2:

What are you doing for your dad on Father's Day? My family is going to the cemetery to visit my grandfather. Hopefully you guys are doing something a little more celebratory. Undecided

You know a friend of mine made a good point one day when we were discussing mother's day and father's day. Why not celebrate them all the time instead of one day a year? That's what I at least attempt to do. Of course I'll get mom something for mother's day and I used to make and get stuff for my father and grandfathers when they were still around, but whenever I had the chance I'd treat my remaining parent for sticking by me through my rough patches. With my graduation coming up she's been awesome being the calm person while I'm running around trying to get things organized lol. I think both of my parents have been awesome and although I do stuff on these special parent oriented days, I still do my best to honour my parents all year round.

If I went a bit off course of the topic I am sorry. Just thought it would be a good time to mention how awesome my parents are. As for me this father's day, I don't really have any plans, but I think I'll have a quiet day to myself and remember how awesome my grandfathers and dad were. I miss them a lot and I know they will be around in spirit Smiley

Thanks Elana, that's so nice of you Cheesy I know for sure that I'm proud to be a guy who cares for Tamagotchi and collects them. It has been so much fun having my buddies by my side, and this coming July will be the 1 year anniversary of when I got my first P2 and P1 Tamagotchi. That is the month where I got my first Mimitchi and Ginjirotchi, hehe. So many memories are coming back to me now.. I can't beleive it's almost been a year. The one thing I love most is the fact that there are so many more good times to be had with my Tamas, with Mimitchi and Ginji in particular, as it seems I always have them on my Tamas Smiley.

Tomorrow I will be celebrating fathers day at my uncles house with the rest of my extended family. I have a card ready to give to my dad tomorrow. My mom and I have his gift all ready to give to him tomorrow also. It will be a nice day! ^^
