After reading some other logs first, and learning from them, I decided to venture forth and try my hand at a Log of my own. My daughter and I enjoy sharing lots of stuff including all the many cuteness thingies such as tamagotchis, sanrio, san-x, etc. She's a great teen and such a blessing to me. Between the two of us we have 5 tamas. One P2 and 4 V3.

A couple of thingies from my collection:

A Tamagotchi napsack that I bought for my daughter years ago and then from her
recently because she didn't want it anymore. I store keepers/pockets inside.
Right about now she may be wishing she hadn't sold it.  Grin Tough nuggies.

Tarakotchi, Tamatchi, and Masktchi

The original pocket keepers from 1997, all in mint condition except for
the spot on (yellow) Tamatchi's forehead. That belonged to my son. I think
it was cherry Koolaid.

My first Tamagotchi. (1997) Still in pretty much mint condition.
This is a P2, right? Anyone know?

#1 Log Stuff and Whatnot:

As you've guessed, I'm a bit of novice at all this tamagotchi stuff so if I call something other than what it should be in name wise, or whatever, please feel free to correct me. That's the only way I'll learn besides just plain reading your logs and following links.

Entry:

Some time ago I put a new battery in the P2 and hatched an egg. After having the V3, I can see that this one is by far the easiest to manage that I know about. I did notice though the buttons are becoming weak and I fear it might be about to give up the ghost. I've tried to keep the front as pretty as possible without putting my fingers on the swirl decals over and over so that they won't fade or wear off.

So anyway, it hatched and I called the baby 'Sydney'. I believe the baby is a boy because on the chart screen it has a dark face. By now he's five years old and weighs 99 lbs. Is that weight good or bad?  Undecided Probably needs to be played with. But discipline is high with lots of hearts on Hungry and Happy. I did managed to drop his weight to 94 with just a few guessing games so it looks like some one on one time with his momma is needed.  Wink UPDATE: I got his weight to 87 and I'll keep trying till he refuses to play at all even after I feed him.

This is Sydney this morning. Happy as a bug in a rug.  Grin

What is he? Looks like a pumpkin with leggers. It might help if I had a P2 chart with character names. I've picked up a few names for the adults from various sites but haven't located a full chart.

I did get Pochitchi one time. He was by far my favorite.

Other times I've gotten Hashizotchi
or Kusatchi .
(above animated screen images used with kind permission from Mimitchi)

Maybe if I'm really sweet to my tama, a Pochitchi will come again.
(snickerdoodle makes a wish on a star)

Thanks for reading.

I heart your logs!  They are really cool, please don't disappoint us and drop it after a while!  (If you do, let us know before you plan to so we won't be hoping against hope.)  Yeah, that's a P2, alright.  I don't know from experience, just from reading Kat's logs.

Oh, and much agreement:  Pochtitchi is soooo cute!

Yepp, definitely a P2. I had that one as well. And Kat has a bunch of very useful charts around this site that could definitely help you out in naming them all!

http://www.mimitchi.com/html/tamatip.htm
You can go there if you need help on how to get a certain character. It's very useful... I managed to get all of the different ones (at different times of course) on my P2s with the help of only that. Kat's great at describing the right things when it comes to tamas.

Loving the logs, by the way; please do not stop them.

Very nice log! Your pictures are very nice and clear

As others said, that's a P2. It's one of the last of the color waves to come out before Tamagotchi ended it's initial craze in the US. I'm the same way trying to be careful not to touch the decorations on the egg. They rub off very easily (Mimitchi Tama used to be a tiger striped at one point).

I remember those backpacks! I regret not picking one up myself, good thing you kept it. And the keepers are great too, they released many cute things back then.

Looking forward to more of your logs

I'll try to remember to let others know, but no promises, if I take a long pause in logs. Just so you know, I"m not always online during holidays, weekends, or long weekends. So that wouldn't be a pause, just busy with family.

Yes! Lots of really good info. That's the page I borrowed the animation images from.  Grin

That's good to know. Not too long...not too short on the logs.

What would be really cool is a tamagotchi purse!!    Hm? That gives me an idea. I wonder if I could locate some really cute tamagotchi fabric and make my own zi-up handbag.

Appreciate it.  Smiley

I see. We had just gotten back from Japan (Navy family) and discovered the tamagotchi. Yea, I know, we should have found out about them before that while there but I was absorbed in my children because they were very small.

I saw your collection. Wowser!! Mine is so seriously modest compared to yours. Well done!

#2 Log Stuff:

A few days ago, I had an eye appointment to get new contacts. While waiting for the doctor, I popped Randi (Navy Blue with Stars V3) out and turned off the sound so I didn't bother others. He's the newest of the group of our 5 tamas so I thought I'd take him along and make sure he got some attention. Anyhoo, when I was called back to her office I forgot to pause my sweetie. Then I forget he was on and left him there for hours as I went to lunch and then meandering through the Mall shopping. The poor wittle guy was a mess when I finally remembered.

Randi with FOUR NOODLES!! A boat load.  Shocked

Randi mad as heck.

After cleaning him up, he was furious at me. Aww well, I deserved it. Took a long time for him to come around and forgive me. Of course, Goose (my daughter) had to rub my nose in it too by teasing me. Unfortunately, parenting doesn't always come with instructions in virtual or real life.  Sad

Isn't that the truth!  Me and my kids just started with the Tama's ourselves.  ( I held out on letting them have them for years, boy am I sorry now  If I knew then what I know now I would have alot more tama's.

Do your kids get you to babysit the grandchi's for them while they are at school?  ( I am a stay at home mom so I now babysit their's and keep them away from the youngest (a 2 yr old monkey) who managed to pull off the buttons on my daughter's Tama one morning....

Hi crystyl  Smiley

So far Goose just puts hers on pause while at school. She really wants to raise him on her own since she only has one. But when together, we share all of them. Although I ask her not to shop with the points I've earned, she can add to them if she wants.

Ouch!  Shocked Your 2 yr old pulled off the buttons?  Grin

I've been messing with my old P2 off and on for years but we didn't really get back into the tamas until we discovered the V3. Goose had a P2 but Lord knows where that is. And my son's was mashed so the screen is damaged but it works. Somewhere among the boxes in the basement lies an angel tamagotchi, long forgotten in the many moves as a military family.

How many tamas do you babysit?
