What sort of munchos are you snackin' on today?

I'm eating Orville Redenbacher's Kettle Korn Popcorn. Sweet but not overly. It doesn't need any additional anything. I use it for mindless munchin' at the computer because it's a low cal, low sugar treat. And filling. Keeps away those afternoon belly grumbles.

(and now for a message from our other sponsors)  Wink

Brendan and I always keep a good stock of the same thing.. I'm serious, the same exact thing ^^ We choose the 98% fat free version of it... numnumnumnumy ^.^

I also make a batch of homemade frozen peanut butter cups every now and again. Combining fat free cool whip, low fat peanut butter and a tiny bit of sugar free chocolate syrup on the top.. freeze and it's a very yummy low fat, low cal snack. I love peanut butter cups, but the store bought version is just too high in fat for me and I'm really watching my health.

I also snack on jello and fruit quite a bit Smiley

 Grin The exact same popcorn!

I've been sick for a long time and didn't understand that sugar was not my friend.

I would really appreciate the recipe for those homemade peanut butter cups.

Mmm peaches and cool whip. I'm so starving now lol

Frozen Peanut Butter Cups
Servings: 12

ingredients:
8 oz. (1 tub) fat free cool whip
3 Tbsp reduced fat peanut better (I prefer Jif crunchy, but creamy can be used too)
2 Tbsp sugar free chocolate syrup

Instructions:
Thaw cool whip (if frozen).

If the container of cool whip is 8 oz exactly, add the peanut butter to the cool whip within the container and blend well.
(If the cool whip container is not used, mix together the cool whip and peanut butter in a large bowl.)

Divide mixture into 12 muffin paper cups. Drizzle a little bit of the chocolate syrup over each of the 12 items. Freeze.

I put the muffin cups into muffin pan so everything holds it's shape while it freezes. After frozen they can be removed from the muffin pan and placed in a ziplock and put back in the freezer to take up less space.
-----------

I find that cool whip makes a great fake ice cream. When I feel like ice cream sandwiches I pick up some reduced fat Graham Crackers and cool whip.

Using 2 sheets of graham cracker, place 6 tbsp of cool whip on one side, then place the second sheet on top. Freeze and in a few hours you have a light ice cream sandwhich ^^

Hope you enjoy ^^

Diet is DIE with a T.  Undecided

Rethinking choices, not avoiding all things, is a major key to dropping weight. And of course consistency. And yea, (boo) exercise. Think low fat and low sugar. But just as it takes time to gain weight, it takes time to lose it too. Fast plans usually only allow for water weight loss which is gained back easily. Thus depression and discouragement can set in with a yo-yo result. If anyone is serious, I highly recommend them fixing their mind for a long term goal. A pound to two pounds per week loss is normal for consistent and faithful choices.

I wish you much success!!

I agree. A pound or two a week is best. Miracle diets don't work and if you lose faster then one or two a week you're likely to gain it back pretty fast. Health wise it's a shock for your body to lose much more then that per week. Losing weight too fast can cause all sorts of health issues.

Slow and steady, low fat low sugar, excersize as Snickerdoodle said - those are the only ways to really lose weight. Old fashioned healthy diet and excersize Smiley

There's a lot of misadvertisment in the media... for example some of the salads at mcdonalds are higher in calories then some of the sandwhiches (!). Education is big part of a healthy diet ^^

Budget alone.. and health.. it's far better to cook at home then to eat out. That's why I cook so much, then I can have whatever I want and I can choose how healthy things are Smiley

Anyways.. Good luck Kokuma, I'm right there with you.

Exactly!  When a person isn't straining themselves with a "cold turkey diet" like some fad diet of only grapefruit, they will experience a better emotional peace because their body isn't starving. Mmmmm... Boarshead (brand) cold turkey...on rye. With a bit of lettuce. Oh my!  Shocked So satisfying and yet low fat, low sugar. I'm giving myself some good ideas.  Grin

Have you tried the sugarfree instant puddings? Wow! Love the chocolate.

Now this I did NOT know.  Shocked

Yup. Me too. I make my own spaghetti sauce now, with mushrooms and meatballs, and the family says they will never eat bottle sauce again. I agree.

There's a personal power and peace that comes with controlling our diets especially when we see results. We feel good and we look good. That's not a brag but rather a gentle confidence that says..."I'm happy with the good choices I'm making." And the really cool thing is that prize shines in all we do toward others because we're happier.

The topic was more of what you're munching on today rather than cooking. Sorry if our conversation seemed to have taken a little bunny trail.  Tongue

I like sugar free Hot Chocolate. Mmm. At Christmas we put a cinnamon stick in it.
