I love peanut butter cups.

Oh.. ahh! My friend in the US sent me a packet of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups once. I'm usually not a big fan of peanut butter but they really were the most delicious treats I have ever had. If I ever travel to America, I am setting aside all sort of dietary reasoning and eating them till my hearts (and stomachs) content.

Haha... sorry.. they just were really, really nice to me. That recipe for your home made ones Mimitchi sound great! I might have to try and make some. ^.^

As far as snacking goes, I'm a sucker for Froot Loops and sugared cereal. Not with milk, just on it's own. I used to go through sooo much especially during exam times when I was more stressed and needed something to calm my nerves (and I know eating is bad for that, but it got me through). =)

I eat a lot of junk food, and my proper meals are very small in portion. My boyfriend stayed with me for a few days and he was constantly hungry because he ate how I did. (Now I know to buy him near double whatever I eat). He's incredibly thin though, possibly underweight but he can eat anything and everything and not gain a kilo.. yup... I'm jealous. Haha.

Last year I progressively got my eating to something manageable. I've stayed the same weight (give or take a kilo) for about 8 months now. I just don't really pay attention to what I'm eating, I usually go with the same foods with take-out slammed in throughout the week.

I take to Spiffy's idea of eating everything on the plate and then working it off with a fun activity, which for me is walking. I guess I'm lucky, but hey... it might all bite me back in a few years.

Snickerdoodle: I finally made the cookies tonight. They came out very yummy!

The funny part was, I underestimated how large the cookies would be. I'm used to making 3 inch or so cookies. So with each new cookie I rolled it got bigger and bigger.. and at the end I ended up with two HUGE cookies to finish off the batch for 12  And they grew bigger of course in the oven, it was a riot =)

I don't usually make the cookies, Brendan does, but I wanted to give it a shot this time around. I usually do the meals and regular food. They tasted good, I just had the portions out of proportion

i want to start experimenting with making homemade breads sometime, but we need a food processor first and... those are a bit expensive. *shrug*

We appreciate you sharing your recipe, it's one for my book. It's titled, of course: Snickerdoodles' Snickerdoodles.

Being young and a guy, your metabolism is probably running sky high at this time. Enjoy eating as you please. In years to come, your metabolism will slow down and you'll gain that weight you want. My husband was thin when we married but now he's filled out nicely.  Smiley

Oh no!! I'm glad they at least tasted great.  Grin

My husband has requested another batch this week. With my son (19) home to visit, theres two cookie monsters in the house.  Tongue I'd better make it two dozen this time.

Wow, I am so late replying to everything on the boards lately. In the past 9 months I have really been watching what I eat. I am like Jiro in that it doesn't matter what I eat, I wont gain much weight at all. I'm with ya Jiro, I really want my weight to go up a little to. But when I was eating nothing but fast food all the time and blowing my system out with pure junk food it didn't feel to good on my stomach. So finally I said that enough was enough and I had to start eating better. I remember not even eating so much as a peice of fruit for weeks on end and just eating junk food this time a year ago.

Anyways I am much more cautious about what I eat now. I eat lots of fruits and vegitables and have cute out a lot of junk food. I eat out maybe once every two weeks and that is enough. During Christmas we ate out ALOT and when it was over it felt pretty bad on my tummy Sad.

I miss those days of eating what I wanted but I was only hurting myself. Now that I eat healther it's okay to have some junk food every now and again Wink. Its good to reward yourself! Cheesy

I'm glad I found this post. I'm gonna try out some of those recipes that Kat posted because love to cook and bake Cheesy

Make me some too Ginji lol!

Mom and I have cut out pop consumption in our house by about 50%. She saw this thing on Oprah ( Roll Eyes Of course lol) that even cutting pop out a degree can help in being healthier and such. So she's been getting more juice lately. The green tea I bring with me is awesome (its Lipton's) for a substitute. Plus lots of other frozen juices she gets on sale Does seem to make a bit of a difference.

I'll second that TL Smiley I have cut out soft drinks and pop almost completely. I might just get a sprite if we go out to eat but other then that I wont drink it here at home. I LOVE apple juice and drink lots of that when I'm thirsty.

Hehe, I'd be happy to make stuff for u TL Wink I'd make stuff for everyone if I could. I always bake stuff for my family and they seem to like it. hehe

Ginji: Yeah.. even though you CAN eat that stuff without weight gain, your arteries and physical health will eventually get worse and worse. I've truly gone from someone who ate steak and lots of meat to someone who mostly eats chicken and rarely eats red meat and my focus is more fruits, veggies and breads and pasta. I miss eating all that restaurant stuff too but I was feeling just like you.. upset tummy all the time and no energy. So while I miss that stuff.. I could never go back to the way I was a year ago.

You're making a wise decision, I applaud your changes so early in life. I wish I had made these changes sooner too. And if you need any recipes, I'm always happy to share Smiley

TL: it's so very true. Soda and high calorie drinks are one of the roots of all evil Cheesy

One of those large drinks from StarBucks (or other coffee stands) can blow a whole days worth of calories or close! Many of those drinks use whole milk and real chocolate and often are over 1000 calories or more (most healthy diets are around 2k calories a day). Best way to get those drinks is go for simple and ask for the low fat milk.

The soda you buy in stores and such isn't so bad though if you only drink the diet versions (0 calorie). Drinking tea, esp green tea, is simply wonderful in taste and in health. Juice is great as long as it contains real juice (none of that fake stuff).

Knowledge is power and even though I don't watch Oprah it sounds like she's saying things that should be said in this day and age. There's so much misrepresentation of health in commercials and advertising.

For example, I heard a commercial for Carl's Junior the other day on the radio.. advertising their "healthy" salads. I just wanted to turn the radio off... seriously. Their Chipolte Chicken Salad is 880 calories and 57 grams of fat (source: their website).  ><

Anyways, enough of me lol..

I'll definatly take you up on those recipes at some point Kat. What are your favorite fruits to eat? Mine are some grapes after my breakfast in the morning. Then I have half a banna and an apple with my lunch. And then for supper we always have veggies like carrotts, potatos and corn Smiley

what is everyone elses favorite fruits and veggies?
