Event Time Schedules Collection
«
on:
January 13, 2007, 04:31:10 PM »
Below are all the timezone charts we've been using to organize group chats, hatchings and events.
Feel free to organize your own event using this information. And modify at your own needs!
Special Thanks to Kokuma (father time) for putting this information together in various hatching threads. I'm just making it all in one post so everyone has easy instant access to this valuable information.
If you make your own plan and you'd like to add it to the list, reply or send a PM and I'll put it with the others.

What part don't you understand? It's just a plan for organizing forum events. Those are times in different time zones for everyone's convenience.
The U-plan is based around the convenience of our members in North America, the other plans make it more convenient for members in other parts of the world.

Erm.. I
think
I understood that... o_o;
Is it that if someone has an idea or an event, they use the "U-Plan" if they live in America, and an "E-Plan" if they're in Europe? Or is it they use an "E-Plan" if the event they have planned is meant for people in Europe?
I'm probably just missing the point, but you might want to make it a little more clear..
I have an event I'd like to suggest, but.. I don't know how this would fit in... o.o;

You can choose to start an event using any plan at all, it doesn't matter where you are from. They make note of ideal times for certain areas of the world, but by no means does it lock you into choose anything in particular for your timezone. These charts are to help the planners of events and help the participants to know when to show up for the events.
It is more for convienance to be able to post an event and have all the times listed out around the world so all members have a chance to participate. It makes it hard on some people in other locations to say "Event chat starting at 9PM EST"... it means that the persons not living in the US EST time zone would have to find a way to know which time that is for their timezone. This way copying and pasting one of these sets of time plans into a chat event cuts down on confusion for people to know when to come to the chat. This enables that everyone from all parts of the world show up for the event at the same time without confusion.
The use of these charts are best shown in examples in past events:

(This thread shows a discussion on the planning process, using the time zone charts).

OOOOOOHH! I get it now, I was looking at it the wrong way, oops.
Alright, in this case, very good and thank you for making a template for us xD
Do you think maybe it would be less complex if you used the 24-hour clock instead?
As if it really matters..

That would work for the ppl who live in countries that use "military time" (24h clock), but many countries don't and some of the chat participants who are totally unfamiliar with 24h system would be confused with hours 13-24.
It's easier to learn to remember that AM means hours between midnight and noon (= morning), and PM means hours between noon and midnight (= afternoon and evening).

I agree with Kokuma. The less complex for folks the better. I know the 24h clock, but I have always been told that AM/PM is more intuitive for most. Changing to 24h would make it more complex.
As for making the template... why the original set of charts was created by Kokuma - Father Time. He did a brilliant job, I won't take credit for his great idea ^.^
