I remember a loooooong time ago, (probably around 98') I had a dinky dino, and a dinky penguin and I thought they were great! Up until that point I had only played with giga pets and tamagotchi's and I felt like Dinky Dino was great just because it was completely different, and it had some great little games on it. I remember it was really popular with my friends and I, so I would say go for it!
Ive been looking for one casually on Ebay, but havent found any legit Dinky Dinos/Penguins...but happy hunting!

I ordered a little RakuRaku Dinokun and it is on it's way in the mail now Cheesy I got a yellow one. I am looking forward to getting this one. I have heard a lot of cool things about it. I'm trying to get into other virtual pets instead of just raising Tamagotchi. Well I will post here when I get it.

I have one of those! They're so cute and simple! (It was my first virtual pet, actually!)

Mothra of Tamatalk has a page on them on her website. You should check that out. There have many other ones, like Aliens, Kids and even Penguins! I only own the Dinosaur though. They're very cute.

The game is just rock paper scissors. It grows depending on what you feed it.

What I like about it is that it already has a built in pause. It was quite advanced for it's day!

I've been running my RakuRaku Dinokun since Thursday now. He is on his third day of living and so cute! I have written a few things about him in my log. I have a yellow one and he is a little blob with a tail now. Jiro, you will have to start yours up again soon Wink

Lol funny you mentioned them because my cousin has a fake RakuRaku Dinokun from a vending machine in Singapore.

The fake had 3 choices of food and two games. I don't remember much about it except for the fact that it continually reset itself and there was a dice game (you have to get a 1 or a 2, it was a luck game)

Be sure you don't get a fake *winks*

When the Tamagotchi Connection had been out for a while, and hype was starting about the V2, my dollar store stocked in a very large amount of Dinkie Dinos and 24-in-ones in Dinkie shells.
Many people at school had them, at first I was all 'No! Tamagotchi are the only and the best! Blah blah blah' but kinda warmed up to the idea of another virtual pet. One of the members of a club I was in had a 24-in-one, she said it was very boring and she reset it all the time because all the characters behaved exactly the same.

One day, though, my friend and I trekked out to the dollar store to buy ourselves each a Dinkie Dino.
We go in.
None of the shopkeepers know what we mean by 'virtual pet'.
We mention they had stocked Dinkie Dinos.
The cashier says,
"Oh. We just sold the last one."
They never restock these.
The end.

Anyway, are these pets good enough to spend more than a couple dollars on (what the dollar store offered)? They appear very, very cute.

Yeah I just wish dinkie dinos were only a couple dollars today. Getting real ones online like ebay isn't an easy task for me. I got lucky with my yuki penguins (which are penguin forms of the dino) but my dinkie dino was about 20ish dollars when you add shipping from the UK. Usually if I get those fake ones I use them for spare parts, screws and batteries lol.
