Hey,

i have been connecting my tamas but they won;t mate
when are they fertlile age 5(they are now) or age 6?

I'm almost definite about this, they mate between ages 7-10. GOOD LUCK!!

7-10? you're thinking the matchmaker, not actual mating between 2 virtual pets.

Depends on the type of virtual pet you speak of.

V1's if not paused much at around age 5/6 will mate when you connect them at the right time. Just keep trying.

V2's and V3's need to have 24-48 hours unpaused time from turning into adults to be able to be fertile (Can't recall if its 24 or 48, but I'm leaning towards 48). Once this point has been reached, if they are in love with each other, their next visit will be mating time.

If it's a V4 then I dunno how they are like yet. Mine hasn't arrived.
