I just started my baby Malikai up this morning, and everything was going peachy. I didn't let anything attack him, and always got to him before he lost more than one heart in each.

However, when he went to sleep at 7pm, about an hour and a half later (even though I was checking on him every 15 minutes anyway just in case) the beginning screen came up! I pressed the center button, and out came another egg! I am so distraught. Can someone PLEASE help explain what happened to my baby?

That sucks.  When you started it up, did you press the reset button on the back?  I started mine the other day after a long time and for some reason the fish was like off the screen..? and the bubbles were acting all weird so I pressed the reset button and everything started working normally.  I dunno, thats my only advice. lol

Did it reset itself like my Mesu and Osu did?  Maybe it was near a magnet or cellphone of some kind?

It couldn't have been a magnet or cell phone since mine was taken away by my parents for talking on it at 3am

Maybe it was that? I have the problem of my excitement overcoming me in cases of opening tamagotchis, and I always forget to press the reset button in the beginning. Does that cause problems like mine?

On the osu/mesu level... I used to have the translucent black and smoky pair, and they used to randomly reset on me too as soon as I changed the batteries on them. I thought I was the only one with that problem?

I have always reset before I start them. Once when I did not, it was on my gold tama back in 1998 or so, and the character was moving through life in high speed. I started him in the morning and by mid day he had passed away. It was like 5 minutes equaled about one day.

That was the goofiest effect I've ever seen. Coincidence it was on a time I didn't reset? I don't know. But I was sure to always reset after that.

I don't think I've ever pressed the reset button before I opened a tamagotchi.  I've never had a problem though until the other day when that happened on my ocean. Weird.

Yeah, that is odd... ugh, life (or do I mean death?) stinks... Well, Malikai the II seems to be doing fairly well so far. When the predator attacks, I don't have to tap the screen, do I? Because, all I do is press the buttons and the mean bear goes away.

Well I guess you're lucky then. Normally you're supposed to select the right icon and tap the screen. Only way it worked for me.

Well I don't have scratches from tapping on it. Maybe i you used a pen or somethign to tap it woudl leave a mark, but yeah. Smudges can be wiped off too. Meh.

Hopefully you figure out what's up with your ocean soon.
