What type of Tamagotchi was your first? What color? When did you get it?

My first one was the very first generation of them, the white one with blue buttons and a blue inner egg trim. Smiley I got it on it's debute at K&B toys. I remember being there about a week erlier and seeing the promo poster of a giant toy egg with a cute little pixilated character in it and it caught my eye. I asked the clerk what it was and he said "Oh, it's like a pet chicken or somthing." and for some reason the very idea of a toy that was a pet made me want it.

So I begged my parents to give me the 19 dollers (I think that's how much it was back then) but they told me I had to earn it. So I mowed like four lawns for it. Wink Anyway so I got it, opened it up and pulled the little plastic tab and from the very first beep I was in love with the little "pet chickens". After my first one it wasn't enough and they kept releaseing new colors and then the second gen came out and I had to get those and the addiction continues to this day. Haha. Although I don't have any imported ones. That's a little exspensive for me.

So anyway I was just whondering where other people may have started their Tamagotchi adventure. Smiley

My first virtual pet was a Rakuraku Dinokun, back in 1997 when the craze reached Canada. I have always been a bit of a nonconformist, and when my entire class had Tamagotchis, I went on the hunt for a virtual pet that was different from the rest. I found a Rakuraku Dinokun, and no one else had such a pet, so I bought one. I still love it and think that it's cute.

My first official Bandai Tamagotchi was my Osutchi/Mesutchi pair that I got in 2002. When Neopets came out with their pocket pets, it renewed my interest in virtual pets and I found mimitchi.com. Of all the Tamagotchis I read about there and elsewhere, I thought the Osutchi/Mesutchi were totally the coolest and I had to have them. So I got them off eBay. Smiley

Two and a half years later, the Connections came out. I made the manager at the toy store where I work order them. I bought two. And then I was hooked and became an insane collector and spent hundreds of dollars on eBay that month and amassed the collection I have now.

Mine was a V1.  It was pink with little red hearts all over it.  I took as perfect care as I could of it, and I got a Mametchi!  Of course, if you read more than one board here you probably know what happened to it...

Here's a hint: Angie shared a similar fate..

Mine was Orange with yellow border, and pink buttons Gen1.  But, it broke (the sound was off permanently) so I returned it and they were out of them..So when we went to Arizona on vacation, I got the white one with black buttons and black border.  I have both designs now because I re-bought the orange one on ebay.  We meet again! lol

Hehe, I find that everyone remembers their first one the best. Wink I have mine still and I love it. I sort of wish Bandai would do a rerelease of the origional color schemes for some of the newer Tamas.

I have my original one still also, and I like it even more now it;'s customized, because plain white is boring.

My first was a blue with lollipops V2. My brother used to have a p1, but that was LONG ago. My v2, after about 9 months of having it, started going crazy and breaking down. I got a new one, but I'll never forget my first tama Sad
