(sorry, I know i have repeatedly posted a log in this section)
This is a fictional log of a scientist who has just discovered a new species (tamagotchi) and his experiences with it.
Journal Entry 12/15/06 21:23
It was on our last research expidition that we discovered this rare organism. I found him in the woods, and he has been more of a companion than a test project ever since.
It was 12/07 when me and my colleagues decided to explore Eastern Tamatowa. Packed with tons of equipment, my group left the lab and headed into the forest. With our binoculars we searched the sky for birds, and with our microscopes we analyzed specimens of leaves. The usual routine. It was I who decided we take an untaken route through an especially thick area of woods. As we entered a beam of light highlighted a small rock that was in the center of the area. Hastily I unearthed the rock to find a small neon green egg underneath it. Puzzled, my colleagues carefully took the egg and placed it in our specimen case.
Later that night, as we returned from the Tamatowa woods, I continued to think about the egg we discovered. What could it be? Is it even real? What species could give birth to such an odd colored egg?
It was late, and I had decided to go to bed. I crawled into my cozy twin sized bed, with the neon green egg on my night stand.
At around 4 AM, I awoke. I went to get a glass of water out of our refrigerator. As I returned to my room, I noticed the neon green egg was cracked in half. And the egg was wide open, but nothing had emerged from it. It was empty. I found this to be very strange, but in my excitement, I had spilled my glass of ice water. I bent down to pick up the ice, and then I saw him.
Under the night stand, sat a scared black creature. He wore a frown and his eyes were very small. As I reached out to pick him up, he slowly backed away. He began screeching in a high pitched, but quiet voice. I placed him in my hand and brought him up to my face. I have never seen such a creature before. He was definetely an unknown species. I decided I would call this species Neonius Tamatis. But I named it Neon. I was so sleepy, and I did not get to spend much time with him. I quickly noticed he was displeased as the screeches grew louder, and more repetative. I thought maybe he was hungry. I raced with him in my palm back to the kitchen. I franticly found a loaf of bread, and tore of a corner of one of the loaves. I placed the loaf in my hand and he quickly opened his tiny mouth and engulfed the bread. He pleaded for more. I gave him more. He pleaded for more again. I gave him yet another piece. This went on for about five minutes until he (what appeared to be) yawned and shut his tiny eyes.
I went back to my room and placed carefully on the night stand. He was asleep. I turned off my lights and crawled into bed. I could barely sleep from all the excitement of my discovery.

Journal Entry 12/17/06 13:23
My newly found organism has been living in my bedroom since I found him. He seems to dislike leaving the room unless I inform him that we are going to get more bread. Speaking of which, this creature has shown several means of communication since my last journal entry. I have caught him (I am going to refer to it as a him, for I have no idea whether there are actually male and female gender differences) crying, or what appeared to be crying, when he does this a simple stroke on his back seems to cheer him up. When he is hungry he uses the high pitched screech to get my attention.
Yesterday I saw him take his first "potty break" , well, I actually didn't SEE it happen, I just looked away for a second to prepare his daily bread portion when I noticed a small black pile of what appeared to be fecile matter on my kitchen counter! I smiled as I scooped it up with a small tissue.
Last night, Neon went through an amazing change. It was completely un-expected. At around 4 AM, I heard a low pitched sound and a high pitched sound harmonizing (much resembling wind chimes). I quickly turned on my light to see that Neon was no longer what I had known him to be.
He was sitting on my night stand as usual, but he was no longer black in color. He had changed to what appeared to be an off white color, I can hardly believe anything could change like that so quickly! Also, he seemed to have hair all over him, small hairs, much like those on peaches, that felt smooth when you touched them. He was still his round usual self, but a bit larger. His eyes were larger, as well as his mouth. I quickly placed my palm on the night stand, and he rolled right into my hand. I looked at him up close, and he "smiled" ! It was in the oddest way, adorable. I decided not to notify my colleagues of this extreme change in physical form, but keep it a secret for as long as possible. I want to make sure Neon trusts me before I expose him to my team, or the world.

Your log is very imaginative! I love how you described the fur on the "creature". I've never imagined Tamagotchi hair before. Thank you for that cool idea!

Nintendo was banned for mistreating and extreme disrespect to other members (see Behavior under board rules). I too wish we could have heard more of his logs, but he won't be returning.
