I like cooking, I think it's fun and always a challenge.

Here's one of my favorite recipes:

Quote
Dorito Casserole

Ingredients

    * 10 3/4 oz Campbell's 98% Fat-Free Cream Of Chicken Soup
    * 5 oz Doritos Baked Nacho Cheesier Tortilla Chips
    * 2 Tbsp chili powder *OR* Taco Seasoning
    * 2 1/4 serving Rotel Tomatoes & Chilies
    * 8 serving Velveeta Light
    * 12 oz 95% lean/5% fat raw ground beef

Instructions

1. Brown ground beef

2.Then add taco seasoning (or chili powder), cream of chicken soup, and rotel tomatoes to the beef.

3. Crush doritos and pour half into a 9 X 13 casserole dish sprayed with Pam, then add a layer of the meat mixture, then half the cheese, another layer of chips, then meat mixture and finish off with cheese.

4. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes

It makes 8 servings or 4 big servings or however you want to cut it up. It tastes great with rice (flavored or plain) and a side of broccoli or fruit.

It's very nummy, has a little spicy kick to it. If you don't like spice use the Rotel Tomatoes Mild instead of Original.

So, if you like cooking, what are some of your favorite recipes?

Mmm, no, I don't actually cook. Smiley I sometimes help make "boquerones", which is a kind of fish I like, and once I helped bake biscuits (and something went wrong with the pastry, lol) - apart from that, I don't really cook - I prefer helping out with the uncooked stuff. Smiley I still enjoy the cooked meals Some day I'll learn. Cheesy

I quite like:
*Paella
*Chinese Chicken
*"Chicken Charmin" (Chinese noodles with Chicken)
*Pasta (most modalities like Tallarines, just not macarrones)

I've actually never really tried cooking, we eat out every night in my house...

But I do like baking!  I like making cupcakes and then decorating them.  My friend and I made a Pokeball cupcake once ^_^

The Dorito Casserole sounds nice. I've been cooking for myself for about a year now since I moved out.
I've been through a wide variety of foods and meals that I would eat,

Earlier this year: I lived off Chicken Cacciatore, pasta and Nutrigrain.

Middle of the year: Chilli Beef, noodles and Froot Loops.

Now: Satay Chicken, more noodles and Lasagna.

I eat very cheaply, I spend about $25 on food a week. I almost died of too much good food when I went on holiday with a family who fed me so very well it took me a while to get back to my normal eating habits.

But, for such a small amount I spent I do eat rather well, I treat myself to a nice lunch out sometimes from the Chinese Place (sooooooooo delicious). I've been working more vegetables and red meat into my meals slowly, so.. it's working out good.

I don't mind cooking, it's nice when I get to cook for someone else too.

Bojko: yeah pasta is a great cheap and yummy alternative there's so many things you can do with it. Smiley

It sounds like you've found a way to eat super cheaply and sometimes that is so valuable, especially these days. It is good to treat yourself to something special now and again. Chinese is delicious, also one of my faves Smiley

I'm with you, it's nice to cook for other people. I don't like cooking for just myself so much. I love cooking for Brendan, he's usually opened minded and willing to try most any of my experiments (except for anything with mushrooms and cranberries of course!)

Anyone make anything special this holiday?

I tried my hand at beef and broccoli - a new recipe I got offline. I didn't do so well, it turned out a tad too salty (too much soy sauce) and I over cooked the broccoli (it was a little too soft). I think steak is probably the thing I can't cook very well at all. In fact I am no good at steak at all - I've declaired to Brendan if/when we have steak again he has to try cooking it

I've been eating other holiday stuff though, like cookies. In fact I've been eating like a horse that got loose in the grain bin lately lol...
