Author Topic: Mesu/Osu Battery Questions  (Read 3814 times)

Okay, first of all...HELLO.  My name is Chi, and this is my first post ever!  It's so exciting!  I wanted to mention that I'm probably different from just about everyone else here, because I don't own a single Tamagotchi.  That's right, not a single one!  Instead I possess the first Tamagotchi GB game!  For those who don't know, it's a combination of P1 and P2.  You can hatch either baby and get either range of characters, and Mimitchi is the secret character.  But of course I came here to post a topic...

I had a Tamagotchi Connection V1.  The batteries lasted for TWO WEEKS at a time, and the cheapest ones around here that lasted more than A DAY on it were $30.  Finally, I got sick of the money spending and let the batteries die.  That was the end of that.  Thing is, I would really like a Mesutchi/Osutchi set, if I could find one (any ideas on where that might be?).  But I don't want to spend that much money on it that fast, so how long do Mesu/Osu batteries last?

First off hello and welcome to the site Smiley

Second: Your V1 should typically last 3-6 months depending on how much you connect them with other versions. By the sounds of it your tama was not working properly or made correctly. Batteries should last a lot longer. It's your tamagotchi. Sorry.

I have a pair of mesu/osu going right now. When I first started them up to when they first lost power...It's been a good while since then so my memory could be off. 2ish months? I can give you a better idea once my pair now goes because I know when I started them. I can give you a better idea once I do know if that helps.

Anyway hope that helped.

First release of Connection V1s in USA had this battery drying problem, they emptied their batteries in couple of weeks when Connection/Connexion batteries should last this 3 to 6 months depends on is it active or paused/in egg state.

I might be remember wrong, but did Bandai of America change those buggy first release V1s to well working ones through some mail system in 2004?

The battery problem was big in the US and I don't recall how they fixed it but it's the reason why I couldn't get into Connection when I first got one, it was just too expensive to keep replacing batteries so fast. I bought all the original release of the colors in the US and chances are I'll never open them because it really stinks to go through batteries at that rate.

Thanksfully that problem appears to be gone from the V3.

I've never had that problem in any other Tamagotchi except connection V1, so any mesu/osu that you get should be alright Smiley

Well I'm glad I never such a problem. Go Canada!

Well I meant in general the batteries should last longer if the tama was made correctly Tongue

I'm Canadian to! It's been a while since I've played with my connections. Their batteries lasted a good amount of time though and I never connected many times, just with my two cousins Tamas. That was a while ago though so I can't really remember. I don't know when I will start another connection. I couldn't get into them like I got into the P1 and P2 Tamagotchi Wink. Connections are good Tamagotchi tho and I do like them.

I probably should have read this topic before I posted because I suppose this one answers my question. Well I guess some don't know but the first wave of V1's that cam to the US went through batterys like crazy. Later the problem was apparently fixed in the second and following waves of V1's.

The way you can tell which you have is really simple, if you place one of the first V1's to your ear (actually you can hear it from far away) there is a loud and constant hum. As where is the later V1's and as I understand it every tamagotchi after you hear them more akin to the ticking of a clock rather than constantly and much less loud.

Also, the first wave came with an extra battery in the packaging, I suppose it was Bandai's way of saying "Here! Have this extra battery that will also only last a week!" The fixed versions don't come with an extra battery.

So Mimitchi, if your's don't have the extra battery's you should be good to go. If not.... well they are quite pretty to look at :/

*stares at his poor V1 and sighs*

As far as I know Bandai did absoloutly nothing to fix them for the folks who bought them.

I had one of that first wave, and I actually managed to fix it. I opened the back four screws up and screwed them back together and it fixed.

Actually,
The ones here: The Tamagotchi Connection picture is that first release set that caused problems.
The PLAIN colored ones are all just fine

Ope!  Yeah, there's mine, the one in the far, lower-right hand corner.  Guess that's what the problem was...that's pretty bad.  They should have tried to fix ours or something.  Poor Mametchi...I'm sorry I let you go dead, all those months ago!
