Halloween
«

I love halloween. I used to love dressing up when I was a kid. Since we were poor I had to be creative with what we had around the house but I still had fun. It was the one day of the year I could be goofy and not looked at funny at school
Now I enjoy pumpkin carving, seeing other peoples costumes and watching Halloween tv shows, reruns and movies on TV. I used to enjoy giving out candy too, but we didn't have Trick or Treaters back in California. Now that we are at a new location we are prepaired to get some Trick or Treaters this year.
I haven't dressed up since around 1999 back at my first job. I dressed up as yes... a Furby. There was an adult costume of a big Furby that I wore to work
Good times.... ^^
I meant to get around to pumpkin carving and maybe baking something special this year, but I've spent the whole weekend working on mimitchi.com instead and time sort of flew by me =)
So what do ya'll think of halloween?

We got blizzard this year for a Halloween evening XD
Yes, it wind like a...opposite for Heaven...and we got 10" of snow in 8-12 hours =D
Not that Halloween is very popular celebration in Finland, as we have our cultural roots more in East (Russia) than in West (other Europe).
But I bet there was no kids trick-or-treating this year, especially as Halloween is mostly celebrated around capital area and the blizzard hit most worst to the South Coast...
That kind of blizzard is really unordinary in Finland this time of year. We usually got this much of snow at once around Christmas.
And in the first place this Fall storm was going to just sweep South Coast a bit and then move to East into Russia, not to snow almost a feet thick snowpiles here 200 miles norther...gee.
Usually it takes 10mins with bike and 15-20min by feet for me to reach grocery store. In Tuesday it took 30min to bike there and when I came back it was absolutely no chance to drive bike anymore - too much snow in sidewalks - so I had to walk with bike and plasticbag full of groceries.
It took me
65mins
to walk home and my face was frost...ouch

woah, I never celebrated Halloween
I wish I could but, Indonesia just dont have that kind of tradition...
they never dress up... They just sell halloween stuff on the mall...
no kids have ever trick or treat in Indonesia because, there is no place for it at all...
cars is everywhere, and people making polution... no one has the spirit for halloween
over here, I just hope someday there will be one...
My lucky sister get to celebrate it 'cos her school has a haunted house and the little elementary going around asking for candy's lol... But she at least get to enjoy halloween

Australia isn't all that big on Halloween (such a shame!) but I live in a Student Village where we have a lot of International students.
All the Americans celebrated in high fashion, they got a lot of people dressed up and gave out candy, it was very sweet. ^.^
There were a few parties around too, I left my planning till too late and didn't join in, but next year is a must.

Well, in Spain people aren't tuned into Halloween (you get the odd trickertreater on the first at midday xDD).
This year I didn't go trickertreating. Last year, and several years in the past I would dress up, and walk about for the fun of it. I never expected to get any candy out of it, its funny to remidn people its Halloween, and some people say funny comments.
Last year, I painted my face as a tiger, and wore my mothers old cloak, and went aroudn with my mother (who I dressed up as a vampire, hehehe), and we had a walk. I did not wear my glasses, so after making the optician's jump, she gave me a free try-out of contact lenses! It was really nice, although they were hard to take out afterwards. I have pictures of last years halloween, hehehe xD I just wish I still had those contact lenses, as a souvenir, but they went into the bin after use.

I had a great halloween this year. I went out trick or treating with my other friend even though we are 16 (hehe). We are short for our age though, so people didn't really notice.
I carved pumpkins, got lots of candy and watched my all time favorite Halloween movie - - "Hocus Pocus". funny movie..

To be honest, if anyone showed up at my doorstep in costume wanting candy I'd readily hand it over, regardless of age. The five Halloweens Kat and I were down in CA we didn't get a single trick-or-treater. Here in WA at least we got one, but I miss getting more.
I'm thinking that next year I'll put a big banner over our balcony that says "I WANT TO GIVE YOU CANDY."

Oh, man! Why didn't I go to your house this halloween? Of course I don't suppose that would have been possible unless I wanted to drive 3000 miles.. But still, if you want to give me candy, I'm there
I still go trick-or-treating at 13, but age doesn't matter. Usually I dress up as some sort of bug.. Or slug, or something. All together I've been a dragonfly, earwig, banana slug, jellyfish, and a ghost (yes, a sheet with eye holes). Then this year I was.. Something. Dunno what, my mom just made this mask and stuck it onto the hood of a cloak and had me put it on. I looked like something from starwars. Like some sort of bug-man-thingy.
Unfortunately with all the candy I got, I only got one dinky lousy twix. I got tons of starbursts and reeses peanut butter stuff, which I'm not as fond of.
