Sure, there's no Tamagotchi racing game yet released for any console, but one of the most popular Tamas, Mametchi will appear as a driver in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, a sequel to 2005 arcade Mario Kart game Mario Kart Arcade GP.

Also, Mametchi will be first non-Nintendo character appearing in Mario Kart games, as Mario Kart GP 2 is made by Namco and Bandai together (Namco created original MK GP  for Nintendo)
Edit: Actually he is not. Namco's own characters Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man made it to the 1st Mario Kart GP game.

There's no much info released of Mario Kart GP 2 yet, but one fancy *SCREENSHOT* was found from Wikipedia.

Mametchi can be seen in the lower right corner of the poster with all the other characters on their karting cars. His car's front panel character is smiling Mametchi head, and there's a Tama-themed water(?) bottle in the group of item pictures. Looks like it's Mametchi's own boost/battle item, but what will it do?

I've seen a Mario Kart arcade game before, we had no change to play it, but if this one hits to our city arcade, I know who I'm playing as.

awesome! that would be soo cool if usa did something like that.  is it just me or does it seem like japan appreciates the tamagotchi more?

that game is fun. but it would definatley be wayyy more fun with mametchi in it!

Mario Kart GP series is arcade-only, and is not going to appear in Nintendo videogame consoles. There has been Mario Kart titles for latest Nintendo consoles such as "Mario Kart DS" for Nintendo DS, "Mario Kart Double Dash" for GameCube and Nintendo Wii is (of course) also getting Mario Kart installment sometime in 2007.

But as Mario Kart GP (1) made it to USA shores (I haven't played this, but have seen english adv poster scans in www), it looks logical that MK GP 2 will also find it's way to the North America.
Original MK GP had 2-player mode and 2 car seats and wheels, MK GP 2 will have 4-player mode and 4 seats and wheels.

I hope you USA Tamafans will be able to break karting records as Mame-san soon.
