I have a new Giga Pet, the Dragon Lizard.  The sounds aren't great but the animations are ADORABLE.  When you select the wash icon, he takes a napkina nd wipes off his face.  It's so cute.  They aren't hard to care for at all, now.  The old ones really were.  There are items to find and foods pertaining to lizards like Gummy Flies and Mulch Meal and Roasted Scarabs.

It's a great pet, but not as good as Tamagotchi, in my opinion.

I've been looking at the Littlest Pet Shop pets, and trying to decide whether or not to give it a whirl..  It doesn't seem very fun.

I don't suggest getting a littlest pet shop pet... it basically just has cute animations and that's about it...

I saw one in the store a while ago. They looked kind of weird too. It had like a couple things dangling off of it? What was that about?

I know, I saw them too. I remember back in the day when they had the original Littlest Pet Shop toys, and then they brought those back all newly formed, and now they have matching digital pets.

I personally haven't played with them. If anyone has, do tell how they work out!

I think the strangest pets I've seen so far have to be those Pixel-Chix things, where you have a pet...girl? In a car? It's quite....odd.

i lovenickle ... unless u want it for the simple games, u shouldnt really get it. :|

i have a littlest pet shop digital pet and personally, i think its not that great ... before i got it all the games and stuff sounded pretty fun. but when i actually got it the games were pretty simple and easy to play. but i never brought it out because u need a map to know where all the games are to play which is pretty anooying

and tigerlily, the stuff dangling off are charms that are supposed to feed and brush the pet. but the thing is, u mine aswell stick ur finger into the port and push the sensor  Wink

Ahhh.  Thanks for the tip.  I won't waste my money, then.  Although, they do have some interesting pets.  Iguanas and birds.  There aren't a lot of VPets made like that nowadays.

One thing I'm missing from nowadays Tamagotchis and other pets are voice and touch sensors like Morino/Umino and Mothra have.

What is to push some little switch with plastic miniatyre spoon compared to idea of saving your pet from predators with making noise and tapping the screen?

hehe ... that sounds funny for some reason

does anyone have any special info about the new generation of giga pets, they sound fun but are quite expensive. i saw them at toys r us for $30! i might give it a chance if it dropped down to the same price as tamagotcis or less

I have a Pocket Neopet at home. It's made by the same people who made Giga Pets. The life span is the same, I've only managed to get mine to 16 years old, but one time there was a glitch, I neglected it and it ended up at 80 years old once! Instead of dying, it packs its bags and walks away.

You HAVE to play games to earn Neopoints to buy food, toys and petpets. There's no working your way around it. The Pant Devil can come and steal items which makes it interesting but I hate it. I spent ages saving up to get a Petpet and guess what? It got STOLEN. You have to buy toys and petpets to keep your Neopet happy and intelligent. I have got the health points maxed out heaps. What I don't get though is that you have to feed your pet at certain times, but even if I do it loses health points. Never maxed out Happiness points before but I have gotten them to like 50000 and my Neopet still packed its bags and left. You can pause this pet though by using the switch at the bottom.

I didn't really like this pet much because I don't have much time to play the games and it's rather frustrating at times. Oh and I forgot you can only get money from each game 3 times (except for the two gambling ones) and seeing there's only 4 games, that's not much money unless you're really good at the games. You can collect trophies by getting high scores (but Negg Drop is SUPER frustrating) to get a password for your Neopets account (and I got it once and it DIDN'T EVEN WORK!). You have to send it to the hospital when it's sick... but you don't KNOW when it's sick because there's no icon or something, then you have to pay for the cure. You can take it to the hospital for a checkup (the only way of knowing your Neopet is sick) but if it isn't sick, your Neopet loses happiness points (and sometimes Health points).
