Uhm, what?

So this past Sunday I started up one of my v2s. Today (Thursday, thus it is four days later) I look at my Tama and see the battery sign flashing. I JUST replaced the battery. Now, I did link it with one of my other v2s a lot (working on mating) but the other one is still working and has been running much longer (is third gen)
I am 99% sure that this was a new battery, and while I do have another CR2032 at home, it is extremely frustrating to have one die so quickly.

I've had this happen before. Just to verify, did you by chance unlock or "hack" your V2 by opening it up and marking a specific spot on the microchip with a graphite pencil? I noticed a lot of problems with this with V1's and V2's and I literally *AND CAREFULLY* unmodded my V1's so they wouldn't have this battery problem. I mean unlocked characters are cool, but what's fun with dealing with low false low battery alarms? Nothing!
If you didn't open them up and do anything like that, just try another battery. Sometimes in bulk (on ebay especially at times) you will run into a few duds from the factory. If it happens more than twice in a row, then it might be something else up...but the chances of that are unlikely if this tamagotchi you own has never had such a history of this happening.

CR2032s really have differences. I have bought these "10 for 2€" stacks and the batteries lasted maximum 2 weeks (a piece).
These days I buy only branded CR2032s like Duracell or Varta. They cost 1,2-1,5€ a piece but last literally for months in V Tamas (if you don't do much IR connecting)
Sometimes price really makes a difference, and with batteries it usually does that big time.
EDIT: typo

I restarted her about an hour ago and she seems to be running fine... And no, I've never unlocked any of my Tamagotchi. Can you get false low-battery warnings even without unlocking?

You shouldn't, but anything is possible. It would be best to negate the other possible problems first before going further.
Going to agree with Kokuma here about the differences in batteries when purchasing. I usually go with maxell brand since I've had the least amount of troubles with them, but if you're thinking you're getting more duds than good ones I'd try getting them another way or from another seller (if online) or another brand. Could just be you just got unlucky this time around. As I said if it happens more than twice with 2 (supposedly new) batteries, then see if you can get another brand or get the batts another way.

It happened three more times on Saturday night, but I kept restarting it and it's still working fine. Must just be some weird glitch.

As in you put a new battery in each time and it kept doing that? Or you just kept restarting it with the same battery?

Same battery. I just hit the reset button and download.

Yeah that might be the problem then. I would of put a fresh battery in there. If it continued to do that with other batteries out of the packaging then I'd say something's up.

Please keep in mind that the first wave V1's and first wave V2's have a glitch by which they drain batteries a lot faster than they rightfully should. This problem was resolved in the second wave for both versions.
