Hey all (tl;dr post inc),

My name is Chris, but online I am generally known as Masktchi. Sometimes as Masukutchi or Masked One. I'm clever like that. I'm going on 21 and I was a Tamagotchi/Digimon fan back in the day. Life (read: school) got in the way and lead to me sort of growing out of it, although Masktchi has always remained a unique moniker to identify myself by ever since. I was recently reintroduced to it by a friend who bought his own MIB Silver P2 off eBay. Since then, I have returned to my old childhood dream of collecting 'exotic' Tamagotchi (meaning everything that isn't a US P1/P2). Special credit goes to Kat for inspiring and fueling said dream so many years ago. Grin

My very first Tamagotchi was a white/black P1 bought sometime after the craze had sept over North America. This one was subjected to an unfortunate pool dipping accident (I generally wore them around my neck) and hasn't functioned since. This led to a quest which ended in a generous, kind lady from Bandai giving me a Gold/Black P2, as that was all they had (towards the decline in popularity I imagine). I also have a red/black Digimon which Iacquired from a friend.

Fast forward 10-ish years later, to the present day: I've gone all out and pursued everything from the Tamagotchi I'd grew up reading about on Mystic Fortress, to rare, unique Tamagotchi I'd never really heard of like Devilgotch, Santagotch, Tamaotch & Genjintch, to various incarnations of Digimon (for anyone who's interested: the original 5 Generations, 5 Pendulums & 3 Mini versions, i.e. the incarnations true to the original Tamagotchi pet, before the series branched off, took on a life of its own, and evolved into a unique form of retardation). Oh yeah, and plushies Cheesy!! Particularly those & Digimon were harder to obtain, in the sense that they were auction-only and oft required beating off other aspirants with a stick. And by stick, I mean my credit card. >_>' Devilgotch, Genjintch, etc were surprisingly easy to obtain in this sense, although Devil, Santa and even Tamaotch somewhat, were quite expensive to obtain. Genjintch, as uncommon as I believe it is, was not expensive at all, no more so than most Tamagotchi.

Aside from Tamagotchi, I was also a fan of the Creatures series growing up, a very realistic PC Game where you breed Norns in a large world called Albia iirc. Is a very neat game, with various advanced scientific tools such as brain scan, body chemistry, drives, etc. I've been meaning to delve back into those games, from Albia in Creatures 1, to post-apocalyptic Albia in Creatures 2, to the strange, space-oriented, mothership of Creatures 3 and Docking Station. Very fun games, and I never really explored it or played very liberally as a kid either.

For anyone still interested and reading this, my other interests and hobbies (in no particular order) include Starcraft, World of Warcraft (Lok'Tar Ogar!), all Blizzard games in general, computer science & gaming in general, Matthew Good (Band), not going to bed, not getting out of bed, persecuting The Alliance, plushies/animals (sshhh!), tennis, hockey, working out, running, reading/writing/imagining/thinking/musing, laughing, making people laugh, laughing at The Alliance, bead/necklace crafting, socializing with interesting, friendly people & politics/world events.

And that is more than you ever cared to or wanted to know about my no-longer-so-mysterious persona. XD I attached a pic below of myself, which is fairly ironic now that I think about it, as I literally have unmasked myself on the spot without hesitation. Either way, I'll be lurking around here somewhat and I look forward to chatting with you all in the near future.

Kudos & Regards,
     - Chris (Masktchi)
