I've been avoiding the V6 like the plague, thinking I won't like how it deviates so much from the original Tamagotchi. However, I am a V4 fan and I'm running two other newer Tamagotchi's, so I wonder if maybe I'll like it. I have 16 dollars. Is the V6 worth buying?

The music star is a lot different than the original Tamas and the original Connections, this I certainly agree on. Giving it a chance though and an openmind I really enjoyed it. The only "con" I would say mainly about the music star's gameplay is once you hit teenagerhood you have to buy your food to survive and baby food will only fill half the hearts so you have to get your band good and quickly as an adult. That way you get lots of money to not worry about such things for future generations.

Suggestion for this is once in teenagerhood, make sure you visit the music school 2-4 times a day until it becomes an adult. More the band practices, the quicker they get Pro Debut and the better chance of hitting #1. Also practice too in the studio  couple times a day. It all works Cheesy

Hm. I don't know if I'd like it just because it seems like it requires a lot of attention. I usually run 5, 6, 7 Tamas at a time so I worry that I won't be able to feed it and do the whole stardom thing. Also, it's either a Music Star or a glow-in-the-dark V4 that I found in a store at my local mall; I've always wanted a second V4 to mate with my other one. So I'm not sure which to get. Or maybe I can save my money and get both...

You should really get both of them. Usually only the first generation of the music star is challenging, because of the lack of money and food. A couple of generations later you won't really need to worry about not having enough food or money as long as your bands do well. It doesn't require much attention at all, just feed it meals and snacks every couple of hours and it does its own thing for most of the day Cheesy
