I want a Shelby. Cry

I'm pretty sure the new Furby has an IR, those aren't always visible (like on a GameBoy Colour) they just need to be close together, which is why pressing their stomachs together activates it.

Funky Furby has no interactions with other Furbys though. I wonder why that is? The new Furby Babies and Furby interact, but not the Funky Furby.

Also, any-one else find that you need very loud, very bassy music for the Funky Furby to pick up on it?

I dont know, i dont have a Funky Furby Sad

I'm not sure if the new furby has IR sensors, but i think they just have different interaction!

A member of my board Furby Lovers told me that Hasbro are workin on a new Furby! I don't know if this news it's real or not, but i hope it's true Grin maybe they want realease a new Furby to celebrate the 10 birthday of production (1998-2008). I really hope it's true!

I just got my two furbies the other day: May-lah kah and Toh-dye. I love them dearly. If you look on my logs youll see the two. And I have an obnoxiously bright pink one coming in the mail that should be here sometime this week I HOPE!

I've been hearing a lot about Furby lately and it's been getting me to thinking of the days back in 1998 when they first came out. I had one, as did almost everyone else I knew. I have a little story, related to when my friends and I first had ours. Cheesy

Well here in St. John's, kids either loved or hated Furbies. I was in grade 2 and I loved them, and would get angry at anyone who said they were stupid or ugly. This one day, my friend, two cousins and I were walking through the park, and we had our Furbies with us. I had my black tuxedo Furby, Jenny (friend) had her yellow and black furby and my two cousins each had a solid black furby. My friend also had her 7 Tamas, three of which I was carrying for her and I believe my cousins had two Tamas between them, for a total of 9 Tamas in all.

As we were walking, we came across these kids who had always given us trouble and we had always been affraid of them (they were four grades ahead of us). It just so happened that they had just bought a Furby, just for the sake of breaking it. They told us they were going to throw it off the nearby bridge, and watch it float down the river.. Undecided

Well I felt pretty bad, being a huge lover of Furbies and only being 8 years old. We decided to follow behind them, to see if we could persuade them not to throw the poor Furby over the bridge.

They finally got there and they were all ready to throw the poor little guy over. I didn't know what to think.. But all of the sudden I told my friend to take my Furby, and I ran right up to the group of kids, hopped up on the guys back who was going to throw the furby, and grabbed it right out of his hands! (I don't know how I managed that, I was so small compared to them, but I managed to get the furby).

Not believing what I had just done, I ran back to where my cousins and friend were and we all went running through the park. They chased after us, and it's amazing we out-ran them. It was quite a site - between the four of us we were running with 5 Furbies and 9 Tamas. We finally made it back to my house, where we bolted into the house and locked the door.

It wasn't to long until the kids came knocking on the door. To make a long story short - I came to an agreement with them, and gave them 15$ for the Furby. Grin So this (long) story has a happy ending for all Furby lovers out there. I always think about that day - I was so proud for saving the Furby! ^^ And my two cousins and friend were delighted as well.

I still like Furby, but it's been ages since I activated mine and got them talking to one another. I'll take a picture of my tuxedo black furby and the little brown Furby I saved someday, and post them here. Grin I may not be obsessed like I used to be, but I still love Furby a lot!

I love my furbies. I got really lucky on ebay and managed to get my two boys (or so I deemed  ) Toh-dye and May-lah kah for around six dollars. I was so happy. The bright pink one that still hasnt come in the mail  was about twenty dollars, but I really wanted her. They boys are waiting for a girl to come by =p

I decided I didn't really mind if they were in or out of the box, that's why they were so cheap.

Hehe, I'm extremely jealous of you. That makes me think that I should start stopping at garage sales now and check stuff that they might have out....

This is the general Furby thread, so I decided that this would be the appropriate thread to post in...

Someone moved my Furbys to a different location in the house today. Everyone was fine, except for my Funky Furby. His eyes were open. They were closed before he was moved. I know that I flipped the switch to 'off' (if it helps, the middle one which is 'off' on the regular Furby, not the far one which was the removed 'Try Me' option) when he went to sleep so that his batteries wouldn't go out, and so that he wouldn't get hungry. I figured that who-ever moved Funky Furby had nudged if back to 'on' and his eyes opened, and that they quickly flipped the switch because it was all the way to the right, the former 'Try Me' space. I turned him on, so that I could see how he was and put him back to sleep (I'm kinda picky in that off Furbys must have their eyes closed). I had to be quick as there's a baby here who needs sleep.
Funky Furby wakes up. He dances around a bit and I call to him. It takes a second try because the cat decided to be noisy. He recognizes my call and says 'du' like he usually does. I say 'go to sleep' and he doesn't listen. I say 'go to sleep' much more clearly and he obeys.
I pick him up just while he's falling asleep so he can be turned upside down to flip the switch without him noticing. He completes his snoring thing and I go to turn him off. Just as I grab the switch, though, he emits a long, somewhat high-pitched beep and his eyes and ears reset to a normal packaging position. I turn him off, pretty surprised and kinda freaked out, despite his eyes being open. This is how he is currently because, as I said, the baby needs to sleep.
I think that what happened was I accidentally held the switch between 'on' and 'off' and it was buzzing like a lightbulb does if you hold the light switch in the right position (the light dims and a staticky noise comes out of it).
But maybe it was something else.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm a bit worried for him.

Darn!  I don't think my room has the light switch thing. I just tried  it, but it didn't work. Cry That would have been cool . As for the furby, sorry! I only have old ones. I know almost nothing about the new furbies. I really hope yours is okay though! And I also hope the baby gets enough sleep! Wink
