i read in the guinness book of records 2001 that a little girl had a tamagotchi named elvis that lived 1 year and 3 months...amazing,i cant keep mine alive for mor than a few months

If it was the 2001 edition of the Book of Records, then chances are it was a P1 or P2. The Tamagotchi Connection line wasn't launched until 2004, if I remember correctly.

Lots of pausing must have been used, I think. I do, however, think that the connections, at least v3s, can live infinitely long so long as you take decent care of them. My first tamagotchi lived to 104. Then I slept in and he got sick...

Guinness has a habit of not knowing anything about what they're reporting, so it's entirely possible.

Besides, what kind of proof would the kid have? She could have artificially aged it if they were going by the year count, and other than that, what would they have? Anecdotes?
