May 13, 2009

I seriously debated whether or not I should post a log today. Nothing terribly exciting has happened with my Tamas. Oscar the Pyonkotchi is still a Pyonkotchi and he is still watching over his little baby girl Teletchi. Toby the Young Mametchi is still a Young Mametchi. I anticipate that Oscar will leave some time during the night and that Toby will change sometime tomorrow.

Unfortunately I lost the auction for the Original Japanese Tamagotchi from 1997. Someone swooped in and outbid me during the final seconds of the auction, but isn’t that how it always is? I did somehow manage to win a Tamagotchi Connection v4 Orange Circles and a Tamagotchi Connection v5 Movie Night.

I am beginning to fear I may be a shop-a-holic when it comes to Tamas.

I am unsure whether or not I will open the new Tamas as soon as they arrive or put them aside with the v4.5. It depends how much time I have and how many Tamas I think I can handle at once.

I suppose that is all for now. Hopefully tomorrow will bring more and better Tama news.

I realize some people probably think I am crazy. I am 26 years old and I am playing with Tamagotchi even though they were the in thing over ten years ago. But, I can’t help it. When I see the little egg on the screen I become so wistful and nostalgic, I am instantly transported back to my childhood, and trust me, sometimes that is exactly what someone needs to get through the day.

When Tamagotchi first came out 12 years ago I was only 14 years old. I was in eighth grade and the most difficult and stressful thing in my life was worrying about how many people I would have to fight at once in order to get my black belt in karate (it turned out to be 4 on 1). But now I have to worry about things like my career, my grades in graduate school, the future, my father’s cancer, etc. Playing the Tamagotchi helps to take that away for awhile, even if it is just a few minutes each day, because like I said earlier, when I have the Tama in my hand I am transported back to 1997.

And on that note, I will now get on with the actual Tamagotchi Log.

Oscar the Pyonkotchi left me at 12:00am Thursday morning. I stayed up late to say goodbye and took some pictures to document the event. For anyone interested , I will provide a link to the pictures at the end of the log.

At 8am the same day the baby girl Teletchi awoke. Apparently I was still half asleep as well because I named her right then and there, forgetting how demanding Tamas are in the baby stage, and thus dooming myself to a morning of misery. I was in work and had to keep pausing the poor thing. What should have been one hour turned into two and a half. But then, shortly after 10:30 in the morning Holly the Teletchi changed into Holly the Mizutamatchi.

Unfortunately my assumption regarding Toby the Young Mametchi was incorrect. He did not change on Thursday. I waited with baited breath all day, checking him whenever possible, but it was just not his time I guess.

But, on Friday, both Tamas changed. Just after 10am Holly the Mizutamatchi became Holly the Hikotchi… who just pooped. I must have spaced for awhile because she only had 2 hungry hearts and 3 happy hearts filled. All fixed now.

Then slightly before 12pm Toby the Young Mametchi became Toby the Tsunotchi. At first I thought he was very ugly, but he is beginning to grow on me. Now I think he is cute in an ugly sort of way. Sort of like when something is so terrible you don’t want to look at it but can’t help looking at it. Like when they do surgery on the discovery channel. Completely gross but at the same time fascinating.

I suppose that is all for now.

Say farewell, Oscar: http://cutecognizant.bravehost.com/v3goodbye.jpg
Apparently remote linking of images isn't allowed, so just copy and paste it until I figure out what I am doing wrong.  Thanks.

Till next time…

Glad to see Oscar got hitched Cheesy Good stuff!

As to your question about prices about V4's and up. Music stars or what you call V6's can be found definitely in walmarts all over for around 15ish bucks plus any taxes. I know this because one of the six I own came from there (bought it with a gift card) and it came to like 17ish dollars altogether. The rest were from ebay but they were $15 also plus maybe 5 bucks shipping? I can't remember but it wasn't much at all at the time. You just gotta know where to look!

V4's, v4.5's and V5's should be around 15-20 bucks or cheaper if you can find them used. Also if you can get the japanese entamas and uratamas. Entamas and uratamas are what the north american V4's and V4.5's are based off of.  I think the pricier ones to find would be V2's and V1's now of the connections because they're not made anymore period. I've gotten lucky last few times and got mine between 10-30 bucks Canadian.

There's so many great bandai and non-bandai pets, so it's hard to choose what to recommend adding to your collection! Keep up the awesome log and hopefully that cleared up stuff.

Monday May 18, 2009

On Saturday absolutely nothing exciting Tama related happened, so I took the day off from writing a log.  I felt no need to make a one line entry that read - “Nothing happened today.”  I suppose I could have written a long entry had I documented the time every poopie, discipline, game, etc. took place, but isn’t it obvious I have given up on that?

Sunday was uneventful as well.  Toby the Tsunotchi was still a Tsunotchi and will be for quite some time.  Like I said earlier, I will not be accepting the matchmaker when she arrives, so he will not be changing until he becomes a senior citizen.  Holly the Hikotchi remained a Hikotchi.

Today, Monday, finally saw some Tama action.

I won a Morino Tamagotch (yes, the Japanese version!!) on eBay accidentally.  I placed a bid on it jokingly, thinking I would surely be outbid, and then went to sleep.  When I awoke this morning I was in for such a surprise!  I had won it!  I also won another v4 on eBay.  I decided it is best to have an extra in case (god forbid) the one I already have breaks.  Okay, okay, I am becoming a Tamagotchi addict.  I wonder if there is a Tamagotchi Anonymous meeting I can attend.

Shortly after 10am the matchmaker came to Toby the Tsunotchi.  As I had promised myself, I turned her down.

At 11:50 I noticed that Holly the Hikotchi had turned into Holly the Teketchi.  I had been in the yard for about 20 minutes and did not hear her change.  I am sure you can imagine my shock and excitement when I came inside.

Summer classes started today.  I don’t think I mentioned this before but I am a graduate student at University.  Not necessarily Tama related, but if I mysteriously disappear for a few days without making any entries you can at least assume that I am being drowned in research papers.  This also means that from 6pm-9:30pm on Monday and Wednesday the Tamas are going to need to be put on pause.  Poor things.

And on that note… I am off…

Til later…

Wednesday May 20, 2009

Yes, going to school and work is definitely a chore.  I work Tues, Thurs, Fri from 8am-5pm and go to school Mon & Wed from 6pm-9:30pm.  When I am not working or in class I am doing school work, so it leaves little time to care for my Tamas and even less time to update my Tama diary.

On Monday, after I made my entry, my v4 Orange Circles arrived in the mail.  I was on my way to class so I put it aside until later.  When I returned from class I started it up (so much for not wanting to run three at a time!).  The v4 hatched into a boy Tsubatchi around 10pm.  I named him Falan.  Around 11pm Falan the Tsubatchi became Falan the Harutchi and went directly to sleep.

On Tuesday absolutely nothing exciting happened.  No one changed and I was so busy in work that I didn’t even have the opportunity to witness them doing something unbelievably cute.

Today, Wednesday, was an entirely different story.  At 9am I awoke to the sound of Falan the Tsubatchi turning into Falan the… wait for it… Young Mametchi.  I honestly didn’t think I would get another Young Mametchi so soon.  If you remember, Toby was a Young Mametchi under a week ago.  Speaking of Toby, he is 9 years old today and the Matchmaker has come 6 times already.  She seems to be stopping by about twice a day, and I keep telling her no.  I am determined that Toby the Tsunotchi will become an old man.

Holly the Teketchi is still Holly the Teketchi, but I anticipate the matchmaker will be coming very soon.  I have decided that once the matchmaker arrives and Holly leaves for the Tama home in the sky, at the point when the baby wakes up and I am asked to give it a name, I will remove the battery from the Tama.  If the Morino fails to arrive before the spring hatching, I will put the battery back in, download the memory, and go from there.  If the Morino arrives beforehand, I will hatch the Morino at the spring hatching and then start the black & pink one up sometime a little later.

I have been notified that my second v4 and my Japanese Morino have both been shipped and I have even been given tracking numbers for them.  I have not heard yet if the v5 was shipped, but I am assuming so since I won it nearly a week ago.

I suppose that is all for now…

Until next time…

Saturday May 23, 2009

Thursday was a boring day in Tama-land.  Friday was much more exciting, but I went to a friend’s house after work and didn’t get home until late.  Now it is Saturday, but I will begin by telling you about yesterday.

On Friday morning, shortly after 10am, Falan the Young Mametchi became Falan the Mametchi.  If you remember correctly, Falan is on my v4 Orange Circles.  The Mametchi on the v4 is absolutely adorable and I find myself completely in love with him. He is currently 4 years old.

Later that same day, at approximately 2pm, the Matchmaker finally came to Holly.  It was only 7 days but it felt much longer.  Holly the Teketchi is currently taking care of a boy Teletchi.

Just before 6pm, on my way to my friend’s house, Toby the Tsunotchi became Toby the Ojitchi at the age of 10.  Is it not strange that Tamas become senior citizens at such a young age?

Since those are the only 3 Tamas I currently have running I assume that no more changes will be taking place today.  If, by some chance something happens, I will discuss it in my next entry.

Monday May 25, 2009

Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:40pm my Tamagotchi Connection v5 Movie Night finally arrived. It looks amazing with the popcorn and popcorn bucket and movie strips. In fact, I like the look of it so much I am afraid to open the Tama for fear it may get ruined. It is currently still in its package in my Tamagotchi box with the unopened v4.5.

I awoke Sunday morning to discover Holly the Teketchi had left. Her baby boy Teletchi was on the screen awaiting a name. Instead of naming the baby I removed the batteries and hung the Tamagotchi on my wall. I am still awaiting the arrival of my Morino and my P2 and so I am beginning to weed out the other Tamas so I can play the new ones as they arrive.

I am not sure if I mentioned this earlier or not, but I created a hanger for my wall on which I can keep all my Tamas that no longer have their boxes. I think it came out rather well, but I may need to create a second if I can’t control my horrible shop-a-holic tendencies. A link to a picture of the hanger is below:

Since remote linking of images is not allowed, you will need to copy and paste the link into a new window.

My boyfriend and I went golfing Sunday afternoon. I chose to pause Falan the Mametchi but took Toby the Ojitchi with me and snuck in a few meals and snacks between puts. I am fairly certain Toby enjoyed watching me make a complete fool of myself. I am definitely not a natural golfer.

I must digress for a moment because Falan the Mametchi is once again beeping for the mailman. I hate this mail they added to the v4. It is driving me completely insane. I feel as though I am receiving mail nearly every 15-20 minutes. I like how the mail icon replaced the light icon so I do not have to worry about turning off the lights, but I do despise this mail so very, very much. Alright, my rant is done.

Lovin' the log Cutey! Yeah the V4 mail is annoying and last time I ran a bunch of V4's I just ignored most of the mail except for the stuff pertaining to a job later as an adult! You probably should do the same lol.

Also I wish I had a tama hanger like that! I don't generally keep the packaging for a lot of my guys and a few of them would be great for around here (or another Jewellry box or something!).

Wednesday May 27, 2009

I recently discovered that I am broke squared to the power of ten.  Translation?  I am more broke than I have ever been before.  Because of this I have banned myself from buying any more Tamagotchis (online or in stores).  Not sure how long that will last though.  Working part-time is a real downer, but I just couldn’t see myself working full time while attending graduate school.

When I returned from work on Tuesday I found that the P1/P2 I won on eBay had finally arrived.  Why do I say P1/P2 you ask?  That is because I am unsure which it is.  There are a few pictures below for anyone who may know which it is:

If you have been reading my journal than you know the drill.  Copy and paste the link in order to see the drawing: http://cutecognizant.bravehost.com/p1orp2.jpg

I have not started it yet.  I decided that if the Morino does not arrive before the group hatch on May 30 I will hatch this one  in its place.

As for Toby the Ojitchi (v3) and Falan the Mametchi (v4), they are exactly the same…  just older.  Toby the Ojitchi is now 15, and I anticipate that he will be with me for quite some time.  Falan the Mametch is 8 years old and the matchmaker has not yet come.  I am becoming very upset about this.  I do not want to have two senior citizens living to be 100+ years old.

I was told that on the v4 the matchmaker comes at 10:30am, 3:00pm, and 7:00pm. Yesterday I stared at the screen at 3pm and 7pm, but she never arrived.  At 10:30 this morning the tama made some noise and I rushed to see the matchmaker, but it was just the mail man.  Finally, at 3pm today, the matchmaker finally arrived!  Falan is currently taking care of a baby girl Tsubutchi.

I have also attached a picture of my current Tamagotchi collection: http://cutecognizant.bravehost.com/tama052709.jpg

You've got yourself a P2 there. ;]

A late welcome, however, still a welcome: welcome to TSS! I do hope you'll enjoy your stay.
I love your T-Log. Writing looks natural to you and that I envy! Keep up the good work by the way. ;]
