When I try to connect to the IRC server, the hostname cant be resolved anymore. Is anyone having similar problems? Is my ISPoptonline having DNS problems with that specific address? Can any of you who can connect please tell me the IP address of the server?

Thanks,
Mike

What IRC client are you using? mIRC?

The server address is irc.everywherechat.com and port is 7000

But as being IRC client user, you need to register your nick before you can connect to EWC server with your client.
The easiest way is to go here and do the following:

To "nickname" space, write the nickname of your choice (suggestion: not longer than 12 characters)
leave "password" space empty for now, and
to "channel" space write tamagotchi instead of Lobby

Once you are in the chatroom, you see button "Options" in the right bottom corner of the window
There's small arrow pointing down in the right side of the button, click there and choose Register Nickname from the list of choices

In the first space of registeration window, write your email address (use REAL address, not a fake one)
second and third space are "password" and "password again", so choose a password and re-type it to the third space
Then click Submit

Now you have registered your nickname in EWC network.

When you connect to irc.everywherechat.com with your IRC client, the server informs you that your nickname is registered and you need to identify yourself.
Do the identifying with entering this line:

/msg NickServ identify password

...but instead of password, type in the password you chose earlier

Now you should be identified to the server's bot and you can chat in EWC network with no problem.
The identification has to be done every time you connect to the EWC network.

Success! I'll be on frequently from now on. I look forward to chatting with all of you.
