Further Details on Event

Well after lots of feedback on this topic, thank you all again for all the assistance. It's always best for those wanting a hatch to determine what dates and times are best for them and of course the TSS public did not dissapoint! This is the season for several very interesting and very exciting holidays everybody can share and get together for, and what better way this time of year than to get together, do some hatching and enjoy each other's company. This chat event is all about togetherness and the power of the human spirit.

Along with the hatch, there will be a mini contest for those who have some plants in the household.

Holidays Plant Decoration Contest
Decorate your tree/reef/cactus/fern/non-weed houseplant in your home with your currently active virtual pets and perhaps the ones you're going to hatch and take a picture and post it in the Holiday Hatch logs we'll be doing after both hatch days are done! Again like all other hatches here, this is optional and it's all for fun Smiley

FAQ Regarding this Chat Event

Does it matter that much what you hatch?
Nope! You're allowed to hatch and get whatever character you wish to aim for on any virtual pet your heart desires. It's just more fun and interesting to put in some extra pats on the back if you get certain characters and get some holiday mating action going on.

Do I need to restart or reset any of my virtual pets?
It's not needed if you don't want to. If you have babies on pause on a tamagotchi, just unpause it when hatch time comes. If you have parents leaving the children that night, set the time to before midnight so they'll leave you a baby. If you do wish to reset or start over on a virtual pet, it's completely optional. I know some people here wouldn't want to mess around with their generation numbers too much. I can understand that.

Does it matter if I hatch or not?
Nope! If you just want to come in and chat with others in the room during the event, that's okay too. I aimed for these two dates eastern time because it was a tough call for which date suited everyone, so this was the best compromise that could be done. At least if you miss one, you can go to the one following it. You can even go to both for all I care
LOL! It's entirely up to you.

Can I bring a friend?
Sure! All friends of Tamagotchi Social Sphere members are more than welcome to join us in chatting and even hatching if they choose to. Please keep in mind though that they are not exempt from the rules TSS has set out for rules in chat and the forums, so I suggest letting them know ahead of time what is and isn't allowed to be done/said in the chatroom so to prevent any chatroom drama or other issues. We want the chat to be friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

How do I get into the chatroom?
Simple! On the left sidebar of this forum on the first link it says "Tamagotchi Live Chat" Just click on there and fill in your username and password (password is only required if your name is registered on that chatserver TSS uses).

You can also access the chatroom using this link: http://www.everywherechat.com/chatnow.php Just make sure you fill in your username, password if your name is registered there, and make sure the room name is Tamagotchi and not Lobby.

If you have mIRC and would rather use that, put in /server irc.everywherechat.com and follow any prompt it might give you if your name is registered/password protected. Then once logged in, type /join #Tamagotchi and you're in!

What if I can hatch, but can not attend the chat event?
No problem! After the double chat event, the Holiday Hatch log will be placed for everyone who hatched in the event to post their progress. I'll probably put it up on the first night hours before the hatch is supposed to start so it's place with less hassle.

What if I can't attend or hatch?
No problem! We'll just have to try again next hatch now won't we lol.

I'm having trouble getting into the chatroom before the hatch date. What do I do?
If you are using mIRC to get into the chatroom, currently (if this information changes Kat, let me know and I'll change the connecting information) you connect using irc.everywherechat.com by typing into mIRC "/server irc.everywherechat.com" and if your
username is registered you might have to put in your password. After it shows you're connected, type in "/join #Tamagotchi" and you should be in the room by then.

If you are connecting through the forum's link on the left hand side for Tamagotchi Live Chat, make sure all flash and java on your computer is up to date for the chat to work properly. Suggestion would be to make sure one or both methods work before the hatch to cut any stress from the day in question. Any problems or help required, Let me or Kat know privately and we'll try to help you out!

I think this pretty much covers everything. If you have any further questions, concerns or just comments, feel free to leave them
here!

Hey all!

I should be able to make it on the 28th date (so that would be ~Australia, West 4:00 AM (next day) + DST). I will do my best to stay awake (or wake up early).  Smiley

We don't have a Christmas tree here, so I'll have to search around the garden for nice little scrub bush or something to do this little activity in, I think it's a wonderful idea!

Happy Holidays!

(PS - Excuse my absence as of late, I've been away on a trip. ^.^;)

In northern hemisphere we move clock 1 hour forward in the Spring and 1 hour backwards in the Fall. I am not sure is it same way in southern hemisphere.

But if southern DST works same way as northern, it will be 5:00 AM in your zone, daa?

Just go asleep early and wake for the chat + go back to sleep after the chat (around 7AM or so)

Aye, I think so. I'll give some time each way to make sure I'm there on time. Smiley

It's been a while Kokuma, I hope to bump into you at the hatch! ^__^
