We may not be getting the Tamagotchi Plus Color, but we ARE getting a new Tamagotchi!

It's called the Tamagotchi Music Star, and is set for release in America sometime between now and New Years (or later), and in Europe in January.
This one focuses on raising a character (or characters? There really isn't info on that...) and helping to pursue a musical career. Once reaching adulthood, a band can form, and you can perform in front of a panel of judges.

Some things I like:
* I love the new concept for Tamagotchi. This seems fairly interesting.
* They removed the antenna! A nice, curved, egg-like shell, after having silly bulky house antennas for a whole year.

What I don't like:
* Despite being a cool new idea, this really feels like a ploy to pull in kids from the Guitar Hero, Hannah Montana, and Rock Band fandoms. I hope it doesn't sacrifice the fun in raising a Tamagotchi pet just for that.

Yeah, I probably won't buy it, unless it ends up more like a Tamaotch  than a V4, which I doubt it will.

Ditto that ^^. I don't think I'll be buying one, even though there isn't very much info on it, it just doesn't seem to appealing to me. *Crosses fingers that the travel club at school goes to japan next year, and the tamagotchi plus colour is still avaliable*

I think we may be seeing the piano character from the tama suku on it.

Yay no antenna~!!!<- It was a a good idea, but it shouldn't have gone farther than prototypes.

Anyway, I prolly won't buy one.  (WHY? WHY NO COLOR SCREEN TAMAS, BANDAI AMERICA?!?)  Meh, well thankies for the information anyway. ^.^

This is actually looking promising now. Each design comes with a charm - a guitar pick that matches the shell design. And on that note, I am IN LOVE with the designs!

I just got one at Toys R Us! WOOT!
It's the "Tama Glam Rock" one. So far it's awesome.

Oh, yea. And as far as info, you are only raising one tama. You can pick two things to be on the screen with your tama. One is his/her instrument, and the other is a toy.
When a teen, you meet two other tamas at school, and you form a band. You play games or practice to gain music skills. The skills are:  Tone, rhythm, and original.
When you click on the status icon, it says: "Player", and underneath, "Band". If you click player, it will show your tamas health, happiness, ect.
If you click band, it will show your two band members, their names, and you can switch what they play.
Another great feature is that your tamas name can now have 8 letters, not 5! (YAY!).
I know alot more about it (because I have one), so ask anything

Okay. The 4th icon is games, and to view your instruments and toys. You can also change the items that are on the screen here.
The 6th icon is to practice, (your tama just plays his music/sings, and that makes his skills go up. It also creates stress, (more info on that below); it is also where you can make your tama play with the toy that is on-screen. This makes his stress level lower, but will decrease his music skills. And of course, the well known praise/ time out options. You should always praise your tama when he does well when practicing.
As for the stress, it is a meter that is under the health/happiness hearts. If it gets too high, your tama will stress! It can go all the way up to 99. To decrease the stress, praise your tama.
Another thing is that it only comes with one food in meal, and one in snack. When you first get your tama, it will have baby food in meal, and "baby's milk". You can buy food for it in the shop.
And yes, there is school, but it isn't necessary until you reach your tamas teen years. School wont earn you anything (I think your teacher gives you gifts, though. Not sure. They aren't very clear.) but you  need to go there to meet two other members for your band.
