California's in southern hemisphere when looking down from here snowpile Tongue

Ok, it's in northern hemisphere but there's never cold in CA so the plants are subtropic or something like that. Northern conifers never extract sap from their spines if not wounded.

All of California is not L.A.!

I was in northern California, in the mountains, where they got snow on Christmas.

I mean, as a Canadian, I was running around in a tank top, but all the locals were wearing coats. I'm pretty sure someone from L.A. would be freezing. Smiley

And besides, it wasn't sap that gave me a rash, it was some sort of toxin that was on the needles themselves.

I can't believe we're still talking about this...!  Cheesy

Perhaps it was some kind of biological insect-repel. Some trees produce those.

But this has gone bit too far offtopic... Tongue

Like every other Christmas:

Be at home for two weeks, stare at the Christmas tree, stay at home, no guests (Sad() and I might be able to see my friends one of the days. Smiley
