Lately I have been noticing a stream of new folks making accounts that are obvious spammers and scammers.  These people sign up with gmail accounts or other similar services and then fill their member profile with links to inappropriate materials and advertising.

I strongly urge anyone who views the profiles of these new users to not click on any of their links within the profile, specifically the website links and icq/chat links. I do not know what the effects of these links are, but they cannot be good for anyone. Also do not private message them. Clicking on these links or messaging them will result in you doing so at your own risk and possibly a computer security risk - and it is a risk I recommend you not take. I cannot be responsible for ill effects of these things.

Instead if you happen to see one of these types of profiles (and you'll be able to tell, trust me - they look like your every day email spam), please send me a PM with the name of the user who may be questionable so that I can take care of the situation.

I am trying very hard to track and delete these profiles and ban questionable domains as they get membership into the site, but some may slip past me.

Registering is in no way an automatic process, so these accounts are very few and someone has to hand put them in each time with a valid email account. I do not want to make an approval process for membership at this time - but if these people persist I will make a change to that effect.

However... at this time membership will remain as is with self opt-in and opt-out via valid email account. If I make any further changes, I shall keep you all informed of them.

Things have been improving in this, less spammy types have been signing up. Overall it's getting better I am happy to say
