After years of wanting one, I've finally gotten a Mori no. Unfortunately, there do not seem to be many articles about them. I've gone through everything Kat's written, tons of logs (Tigerlily's, CM's). Would anyone be willing to throw tips/tricks at me? I'd be grateful for anything, no matter what! Thank you, TSS. Smiley

During the cocoon stage try and keep the temp on either side of the thermometer and don't let it go over to the other one!  When I have raised a Morino I have let the meter roam over the sides and I always end up getting the little dung beetle guy

Thank you, Alice! Looking at the growth chart, it looks like temperatures affect the kind of character you get. Should I be going for an extreme temp, or should I try to keep it in the middle?

here's the page i found when i got my morino. i didnt play with it for a long time, but this page seems to have useful information about things like what you feed it and the temp, etc.

I would stay extreme because then it would be easier to keep it on one side of the thermometer.  That's my guess.

Also weight from what I've heard from Kat and Dennis is also a key thing to watch for. Some of the adults you can only get if you have a certain weight by the time it hits the cocoon.

ya i know that the character you get not only depends on how well you take care of it, but what you feed it and what temperature you choose.
Also try to leave the sound on if you can because its easier to know if your bug is about to be stepped on by that foot, in which case you have to save it and all that.

All these tips are very helpful! I knew about the weight thing, but I didn't know about weight limits on certain characters! How hard is it to raise the weight? And thank you for the tip on temperature; I'd be afraid to go to extremes on my own. I get to pick up my Mori no tomorrow; I can't wait now!

Not too hard, just feed it the foods that pack on the pounds quicker methinks. I haven't had as lucky of a time with morino though. I keep getting the same characters ;P But I shall continue to keep trying. Ginji would be best to talk to about care Rat. I think he even got the special character on morino, the twin ants.
