Welcome all to the Ocean Challenge.
Be it participating or watching the logs this challenge, this looks to be one heck of a turn out! Again I want to thank all of you for making it possible and helping me out with giving me all the feedback and such needed to make this possible. Also another thank you going out especially towards Kat for all her support and thoughts on this thing in the early stages. I'm really glad we got the ball rolling finally on this thing!
Now this log is for all people who entered an ocean for this challenge. Here are the participants:
TigerLily013
with Transparent with Blue waves Japanese Ocean named Mizu
Mimitchi
AKA Kat with Pink/Blue/Purple waves on white Design English Ocean
Jiro
with Blue with Dark blue splats Japanese Ocean named Poopy
Ginjirotchi
AKA Dennis with Blue & Dark blue with white bubbles English Ocean
Mothra
with Blue bubbled Design English Ocean named Sushi
Koluki
AKA Eveh with Customized Design Ocean named Monique
Seraphim
AKA Alex with Purple Japanese Ocean
Note:
First two entries in this list, Kat and I will not have our progress officially count for this challenge since she's our awesome admin and it would look bad for the hostess to be able to win in this thing
lol. We're just doing it for fun and with the rest of you guys! Just reminding you
By now I'm sure everyone knows the rules to the challenge, but for those who are unclear on what to expect in this and/or the rules themselves,
please see the TSS Ocean Challenge topic in the events section of Tamagotchi Social Sphere for all rules and all questions there will be answered.
If you have any inquiries or other questions, post those in the event's topic and not here to keep any possible clutter out. It would be greatly appreciated!
Log watchers and Number Draw people are allowed to comment in this log, just remember to keep it relevant
I think all that needs to be said is said. Good luck to everyone and let us dive deep into the ocean and begin our underwater journeys!

I started up my ocean along with the others at approximately 8pm-ish on July 4th for the TSS Ocean Challenge at
www.mimitchi.com/vpets
. I set my time and watched the little throbbing egg move around on my screen in the water it was living below. I love the characters and graphics in this game, and the sounds I forgot how cute they sounded! I knew though this is definitely going to be more than just cute sounds and nice graphics. It was going to be difficulty to the EXTREME! LOL!
Okay maybe not that dramatic but still lol. After 5 minutes of awaiting the egg to hatch it did it little underwater song and spinning on the screen as it became the planktontchi.
I literally check this thing every 2 minutes o_o; It's crazy already. I'll live tonight but it'll be interesting dealing with this thing tomorrow evening being on vacation at my friend's buck and doe and all LOL. So after an hour of crazy neediness and checking it every few minutes, it turns into kuragetchi, the jellyfish!
It's quite cute
And I only need to check it every 7-10 minutes now since that's how often now the hearts drop. As you can see it's asleep in the picture since it's around 9pm now give or take a few minutes. So currently it's 0 years old and weighs 5 units. I won't be able to post Saturday night on my progress because of the buck and doe, but I will sunday.
BTW for those who were late or unable to come without notifying me by PM, please make sure in your logs you mention you were late or couldn't make it so we know. Thanks.

When pulling the tab I was greeted with the teen characters Otototchi and Kingotchi, and after setting the clock the egg took their place. Since I am running the US version of this Tama, the egg is different. Instead of a white egg on the Japanese Umino, it is black. Not a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless! That's an image of the egg down below.
After five minutes I heard my Ocean play a little beeping tune, and I looked down to see the egg going really fast across the screen, with a lot of bubbles.
He beeped for attention immediately, since he was empty on hunger and happiness. Below is an animation of Planktontchi.
I fed him four meals and then began to play the game with him. I won the first game with no problem, but then the rest I kept loosing. Finally I got another win, and had two hearts filled. I went to play the next game and got a visit from the octopus.. He sprayed the screen, and my poor little fishy lost all of his happy hearts. I finally managed to play enough games with him to fill his happy hearts up completely!
I continued to take very good care of him for the next little while. I beleive he pooped once more a little while after he got sick, but I can't remember exactly because I was doing a little bit of studying. The time went by rather fast, and all of the sudden I heard the changing tune. I looked down to see Planktontchi swimming away on me, and a few seconds later was greeted by Kuragetchi. He swam very fast across the screen and then finally slowed down, as did the bubbles since they were really going crazy. Below is the animation of little Kuragetchi.
He's gone to bed for the night, now. Quiet and content. Below is an image of what he looks like asleep.
And to finish this log, here are some pictures of the menu screens I took while raising him.

Feed, play, play, feed, play, get inked, play play play, go to bed.
That was the easy part. I hope I can keep up with these two all day tomorrow.

TigerLilly: Your photos are excellent as always! Good luck to you in raising your buddy.
And have fun on your trip!
Mothra: You have two very nice Oceans. That US Ocean you have is what mine is supposed to look like - my camera phone sucks, so my Ocean came out looking green.
Oh well, good luck to you as well.
Hope you do well!

With some annoyance I write this log tonight. I've looked forward to this hatch for months -
literally
- and I was not there. I talked about it for the past month, telling Brendan all about it even though he doesn't really come here much anymore. My ocean has been sitting on the desk next to me all week just waiting to hatch.
For the last couple of days my connection has been more or less flaky. And of course.. it decided to jump ship on me this afternoon again. I'm going to call them next time this happens, it's been too much lately. It just figures though... great timing.. :p
When 5pm rolled around I was still without a connection, so I pulled out the tab on the Ocean and hatched him anyways. I was there in spirit..
I hope it was a good hatching. I'm sad I wasn't there, I really really am. This is likely the biggest/best event we've had since the opening of the board, or at least it feels like it. I love the idea behind it and it has been handled beautifully by TL. Please tell me all about it when you can.
But as I said, I did the best I could do.. I was there in spirit with my Ocean. It wasn't as fun hatching without you guys.
Being that it's July 4th, a holiday here in the US, I carried on to make dinner for the hubby and me while caring for baby ocean. My I am surprised how crazy demanding this guy is in that stage! It felt like seconds as I was juggling making food and pushing buttons for his wants of games and yummies. Really how crazy is this guy. It's been quite a long time for me.
Sorry I didn't write down specific times, I was doing a buncha stuff at once. But it was a bit over an hour when he changed up his form to a jellyfish. This was relieving, however really his demands did not lay low much at all. It felt like seconds went into minutes before he needed things. I guess Minutes is okay, hehe. A challenge indeed! The predator came a couple of times, leaving his water all messy and him unhappy. Luckily this happened only during the times while I was playing games with him so I was quick to take care of him without problems.
He went to bed at 7pm, so it had been only 2 real hours of play for him tonight. Here's what his stats read; 0 year 8lbs, water quality completely clean, only 3 hunger hearts filled, and 2 happy hearts filled. There are 2 lines in discipline.
I wish I had been there..
I hope you all had a great time at the hatching and a great July 4th for all those that celebrate.

I really missed you there, Kat!
But I'm glad you hatched your Ocean anyway. That really sucks about the connection problems. Either way, you hatched and are part of the group.
You should post pictures of your little guy if you can! ^_^

Howdy! I'm posting late again. I read over what I wrote last night and realized some of my thoughts blended together because I was tired so my sentences weren't quite right. The most obvious typo I made was saying the predator came and messied up his water while playing the game, I meant to type "octopus" there. The predator did come though at other times during the evening.
I left some fragmented sentences all over the place.
I was repetitive too.. but really I was sad I wasn't there for the chat. Still am
Hopefully I will make better logs from here on out.
Today has been a typical day with my needy little guy but I'm getting the pace just fine so it's feeling not really demanding, just 'normal' now hehe. I always check him every few minutes, yet on occasion when I'm doing other things he has called out to me for one thing or another.
Nothing really major to report though. Here's his end day stats; 1 yr 5lbs, water completely clean, 3 hearts filled on hunger, 2 filled on happy. The discipline meter is entirely filled up now. He also got sick 3 times during the day. One of the times he was sick it took soooooooo many medicines to help him out. Luckily he was happy and healthy soon enough.
Thanks for the comments Dennis! I am happy I get to participate, but still.. that was sad not being able to be there
I'll try and get some pictures here soon, I've been lazy about that.
I hope I'll have more to report tomorrow.
Until then... I hope everyone is having a happy and healthy weekend.
