I'm so very sorry to hear Rebecca, that is a terrible thing to happen. Colon cancer and it's complications is a devastating thing to happen to someone..

Condolences to you and your family.

Thanks Jen, very appreciated there for the support Smiley Gotta say TSS is definitely the best place for support at this time. Everyone here is awesome.

As for the complications, mom and I, as well as my Aunt marg (hubby to Uncle Glenn, my deceased uncle's brother) who's an R.N (registered nurse) here in Ontario are pretty sure this could of possibly been prevented (keeping well in mind sometimes things are inevitable).

Instead of jamming a tube down his throat to pump crap out of him, they could/should of transfered him at the first sign not enough stuff was going in his "bag" to a more equipped facility like the hospital in Victoria instead of putting incredible stress on his body and heart doing that. My aunt and mother will be requesting all the papers, charts and note from the hospital regarding his stay in the BC hospital.

My family is one team that I feel if I ever get put in a hospital or legal situation, I'm not gonna get nonsense thrown at me, that's for sure. Aunt's a registered nurse, mother's a legal secretary who has connections to lawyers including our boss (mom and I work together) and my remaining uncle is a police detective. If there was ANY mistake on the hospital's part that caused this nonsense, it will be shown...that I'm fairly confident in.

In the meantime mom is making arrangements to go with my aunt and my remaining uncle for a few days out to B.C. to plan a memorial out there while I hold down the fort here.

Thanks again for the support and I'm gonna say it again: I love it that this forum is here right now.

I'm so sad to hear about this. And especially I am very sorry to hear that it may have turned out far differently if the hospital made some different decisions.

*hugs* you and your family are in my heart and thoughts, my friend.

Thanks Kat, we'll see how it turns out. As my mom said too many red flags came up. Once they look at the charts, it'll determine who's at fault or if this was inevitable. *big hugs*

A bird flew into the living room window this morning and hit it pretty hard. I looked out the window, and the bird was on the ground, making coughing noises. I rushed outside to see if I could help it in any way, but it was too late. It was dead.

It had blood coming out of it's poor mouth. I've been crying all morning. Cry

Thanks bhoeschcod, I was pretty upset. I told my parents, and we've decided to put some tinsel (seeing as it's the festive season) outside on the window, so other birds will realize that there's a window there, and they will avoid making the same mistake.

I honestly kept forgetting to reply to this post since I got busy, but another good way so birds won't fly into windows is suncatchers. I remember a few times growing up mom would buy me for easter some little plastic suncatchers that you paint to make colourful and pretty. Then once dry you put them in the window.

Mine usually had rainbows, suns, moons and other things to the pictures but you get the general idea. Could buy a few too at a dollar store or somewhere inexpensive and put some up there too.

Anyway the tinsel is still a good idea Smiley I hope you haven't had anymore accidents.
