You can get sometimes 2 kids and sometimes just one child. I just recently mated two together, both eldest children of two families and got an only child daughter out of the mix. Then I mated using the matchmaker on a remaining sibling and they got 2 children. Then I mated my remaining japanese famitama with the matchmaker and got 3 kids.
