[Mimitchi]

Around this time of year and mostly up until the fall/winter things get kinda slow on the site. I think this is due to school studies, summer, family holidays and other obligations. This is also due to holidays ending and some of the 'craze' dies down that appears around the holidays.

If there's something in particular, activity, improvement or whatnot that you think would help you enjoy your time here more, please let me know. Hatchings are always much slower around this time too. I've tried to think of new activities or things I could post to help those that always stick around during this time of year to enjoy the site more, but I'm coming up with a blank today.

I am considering changing the forum theme, but I haven't researched that topic much yet. It's in the back of my mind as something that might be a welcomed change.

So any thoughts anyone on anything at all, be it theme changing or some other thing?

I can't say I have any suggestions, since I'm never very good at coming up with them, hehe. Your right that the boards are slow this time of year. They were this time last year as well.

I personally love the forum theme and layout. Don't do anything to drastic! ^^

Btw, this is kinda offtopic, but do you have any plans to update your logs? I miss reading them! ^^

Yeah, this is the time of year I usually blank out too.

Maybe we could have a photo contest? Like, perhaps set a theme, and then have people take pictures of their tamas relating to that theme. Say, if the theme was something generic like spring, people could take a picture of their tama in the grass, or next to a baby animal, etc. I could make something cool for the prize, like a signature additive or something.

Themed hatchings are always fun as well...I for one am highly in favor of another 90s themed hatch, and I have no doubts that Dennis would enjoy it too We're both really into the 90s tamas, and it'd be fun if the rest of TSS got in on the fun.

Something I've always wanted to do was have an Ocean contest, to see who could keep theirs alive the longest! All you'd have to do is take a picture of your ocean when it dies with the age next to it for proof. I could make a little Ocean Master badge thing for siggies too

Coming from that, we could also have a Morino contest for long life, since they seem to be short-lived as well, but are far less demanding.

I think little contests would be really fun to do to keep people playing with their tamas and posting.

Edit: Oh and yes, Kat, I think you should join in on the fun too, even if it's just Mimitchi and another 90s tama I miss reading your logs too!

Hehe I'd really love to do a 90s Tama hatch. Nothing beats the original 90s Tamas. They are the ones that started it all! ^^

Oh yeah, and an Ocean run would be really cool to! I'd probly do something crazy like hatch my US and Japanese Ocean at once! Hehe!

This seemed the most appropriate thread to post this... If it's not, I'll delete the post and move the message elsewhere!

I remember around the time I joined one of the ideas for the latest hatching was a 'Getting to Know You' hatch, and I remember for what we did end up having as our hatch I had a friend over at my house that day so she participated by hatching some of her Tamagotchi, too..
So I've had an idea kicking around my head and causing quite a ruckus; why not a 'bring-a-friend' hatch? Of course, like all of our hatches nothing would be neccessary for participation, but I think that if the turnout was good it could be fun, and maybe even bring some new people into our ranks. Hatchings, in my opinion, are one of the best parts of this community and to show more casual fans this concept could be very exciting.
This could be facilitated on each parties end by having two people sit around one computer and share an IRC name, or have two computers in a room and just specify who's with whom upon entering. If needed it could even be over a distance.
Also: Bonus points if the parties dig up one of those 'Best Friends' Tamagotchi Connection Packs with the matching shells. Extra points if parties split the responsibilities of the Mesutchi and Osutchi! (Heh, I hadn't even thought of that before... >0<)

I like alexa's idea of a Photo contest, too. I love photography (although I must admit I'm not very good at it!) and to see what we could make of Tamagotchi with photography tricks sounds like lots of fun. (*Just squee'd at the thought of extra exposure plus the lighting-up of the Yasashii*)

Yeah, things slowed down here last year between March and June, hopefully it won't take until November to speed up again. But anyways, I really liked Alexa's and Priestess' idea's, I think you guys should run with those.

Yeah I've noticed in past years (even without a forum) that the traffic to the site slows down around this time always. It's just one of those things... it's after the holiday and people have more things to do as summer approaches. I've been getting the same way lately - I have other web projects and just haven't been here as much either. ^.^

These are all great ideas, I really appreciate you all taking the time to reply. I've been giving some of them thought lately and think they'd all work as future events. I've always loved the idea of the ocean hatch - it just never happened. I also love the idea of a photo contest because I very much enjoy taking pictures.

Additionally I wanna say the interface change is actually underway and we hope to get it out here soon. We'll allow you to keep the current theme or switch to the newer one - that way people have a choice based on what they like best. More to come on that. ^.^

As for logs; I'll do my best to answer that question. My life is pretty boring, ya know? And looking back I realize I wrote a bit about life with Tama's.  And since I've been more focused on trying to figure out life and less on Tama's it's hard for me to have too much to say about Tamagotchi that isn't already being said out there. So many people here write logs that I feel are superior and more interesting than what I would have to say!

I'm just at a very odd time in my life, feeling a bit lost in my place and in the world. I've had some bad luck with jobs and I can't seem to figure out where I'm headed. The great thing I have going for me is a supportive and loving husband and in that I am quite lucky.

So I would like to write more again someday, as I do enjoy writing. I've been writing fiction and learning to compose music on my computer lately. I have other projects too I've been working on with the hubby. And he's been terribly busy himself lately. So *shrug* I dunno that I ever meant to stop writing logs for very long, I just haven't gotten back to them. I sure do enjoy reading all of your logs here though.

I got off topic quite a bit there, my apologies.

Be sure to vote in the poll regarding what chat interface you prefer to use while online. That will help me decide how we are going to do our live chats. We will keep the current one up there until we've decided but I rather like to know everyones views before I make huge changes like that ^.^
