Does v3 have only 1 tamagotchi or 3 like the v5? What version started using 3 different ones together?

v3 only have one Tamagotchi on the screen. V5 have 1(kinda rare) to 3 Tamagotchi's on the screen.
V5 started using different ones.

V5 is the only version on which you raise a family; any version lower than V5 only has a single Tamagotchi.

The v5 is the only tamagotchi (aside from the Japanese famitama of course) that has multiple tamagotchi on the screen. However, if you're considering which to buy, you should know that the v5 only connects to other v5s.

Why are you referring to V5 and Famitama being two different things? V5 is just english translated Famitama. There isn't much difference.

I agree. I call both the english and japanese ones famitamas since it's easier to say lol.

I know they're the same, I just said "(aside from the japanese famitama)" because in the first post of the topic braskababe08 just said "v5" instead of the both v5 and famitama. (not to say that she should've, since I assume she wanted to know about a tamagotchi available in her area, and not in Japan.) I guess it made it a little more complicated, sorry if it was hard to understand.

True, but I don't think the Gameboy Tamagotchi counts as an actual Tama, since it it's not the egg-shell portable pet kind of thing.
